3.0 out of 5 stars Works with Iphone but connection very sensitive
This does work with the Iphone, but if you hold/move your phone the transmitter tends to loose the connection. If you can deal with the hassle of reconnecting, this transmitter will do until something better comes on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best iPhone 3G FM transmitter I've Tried, November 26, 2008
This review is from: Satechi iPod Touch G1,G2,G3,G4, iPod Classic, iPod Nano G3, G4, G5 FM transmitter with LCD Display (Electronics)
This is hands down the best FM transmitter I have bought for my iPhone 3G. I have bought about 5-6 of the more known companies products only to return all of them because they were terrible. The best part about this transmitter is that it broadcast on 87.9FM which has always given me the best reception in my car.
Yeah its form isn't the best, and it doesn't blend beautifully with my iPhone but it does what it is supposed to do. It lets me listen to Pandora, or my music in my car.
BTW, I have no affiliation with this company, it took me a lot of trips to and from Target, Best Buy, and the Apple store returning bad products to find this device. Just trying to save people the frustration.

Bought this item because of it low price. I have purchased similar items at a much higher price with disappointing results. This transmitter works better than others 2-3x the price. Iv been using it with an iPhone and really like the low profile design, no wires or pieces hanging off it. It does pop up the little "not iPhone compatible" message but causes no interference, even when iPhone is kept out of airplane mode. The signal is strong enough to overpower weak FM signals and works well in metro areas with high FM traffic as well as the mountains and rural areas. A really great value!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product! Solved all of my iPhone problems., April 28, 2008
This review is from: Satechi iPod Touch G1,G2,G3,G4, iPod Classic, iPod Nano G3, G4, G5 FM transmitter with LCD Display (Electronics)
This is a great product that interfaces beautifully with my iPhone and car steroe. I use it primarily to play podcasts through my car stereo. I also use it at the gym to watch video podcasts while wearing standard FM radio headphones, and no longer have to worry about yanking on my earbud cord and knocking my iPhone to the floor. The sound is remarkably clean and clear, but sometimes I will get some static, necessitating that I change the frequency (easily done with the up and down arrows)to find a frequency that has no weak station broadcasting on it; this usually clears up the sound. The transmitter draws power from the iPhone and comes with a cigarette lighter adapter for long trips. In summary, a great product, sleek, well-designed, and at an affordable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it!, October 22, 2008
This review is from: Satechi iPod Touch G1,G2,G3,G4, iPod Classic, iPod Nano G3, G4, G5 FM transmitter with LCD Display (Electronics)
I bought this unit, and it does EXACTLY what it should. I have a 2001 Toyota that has no "line-in" on the stereo. So with my new iPhone 3G, my options were limited. I plugged this thing in and set the station and it worked immediately. There is a small amount of static between songs, but i've found that ALL of these transmitters do that. When the music is playing the sound quality is very good (better than radio, not as good as CD's) keeping in mind that iTunes sound is far from CD quality. Further, it responds to your changes with the EQ settings, both on the iPhone and on the stereo itself.

I would, however recommend that you "level" your music on your iTunes (if you haven't already) so that all songs will play at the same volume. If you don't there can be some volume "surprises".

For the price, this unit is Fantastic. There are some that will find fault with it i'm sure. But those people aren't usually happy with anything in their lives anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy little piece, November 25, 2008
This review is from: Satechi iPod Touch G1,G2,G3,G4, iPod Classic, iPod Nano G3, G4, G5 FM transmitter with LCD Display (Electronics)
Its one of those things we can say is, Right Out Of The Box, piece of equipment. It fits in the iphone really good. Wont pop out of the socket unlike some other I have used recently.
It small, sexy and very light weight. There is no buttons on it. The arrow marks on it are like touch keys. Just have to touch it and it changes the frequency. Completely hazzle free.. I even use it to charge my iphone. Also it turns itself off if its not being used, even if it is just plugged in.

I would recommend this one!

I think this item works great. I have had no problem with it. I live an hour away from college, and when I drive home I can leave it on the same station the whole time with no static. Plus the transmiter can actually transmit really far. Me and friends set around a campfire all night with a truck pulled up. We passed the ipod around for hours picking songs. So this makes the wireless fact awesome, and that it does not drain the ipod batery to bad. I love it, and for the price you can't beat it.

It took a while to find a product that would let my iPhone play through my car stereo. It works well. I listen to audiobooks, so if it goes on hold for a phone call and I'm on too long, it doesn't seamlessly go back to where I left off, but it does work well otherwise!

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect, December 3, 2008

This review is from: Satechi iPod Touch G1,G2,G3,G4, iPod Classic, iPod Nano G3, G4, G5 FM transmitter with LCD Display (Electronics)
I read all the reviews, so I knew what to expect with the "not compatible with iPhone" warning. My only complaint is that it doesn't fit as tightly with the protective case on my iPhone 3G. Which means it gets disconnected somewhat easily - basically whenever I touch it. I tested it *without* my case and it works perfectly, so it's not really a product flaw (especially since it wasn't even made for the iPhone).

I've been leaving the case on my phone and just don't try to skip any songs. It's still worth the money I spent to be able to listen to my music in the car (without running my battery down). The sound quality is great and the technology fascinates me. It can just as easily be used on your home theater sound system!

I have no complaints with Satechi. The ordering process was seamless and my order arrived quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars The search is over for now, November 24, 2008
This review is from: Satechi iPod Touch G1,G2,G3,G4, iPod Classic, iPod Nano G3, G4, G5 FM transmitter with LCD Display (Electronics)
I recently bought an FM transmitter from bestbuy for over $100 and it only worked on one frequency (Brooklyn, NY), and the sound quality depended on where I placed my iphone. I returned it and purchased Satechi for 1/4 of the price, and what a difference it was in quality of the signal. Basically it works well on almost any frequency. I mostly listen to podcasts so it suits me perfectly, but occasionally I use Pandora and the quality through the transmitter is still pretty good. Not as good as CD's, but comparable to a radio station. I just wish it had at least one preset so I wouldn't have to make sure I didn't accidentally change the frequency every time i touch the transmitter.
I use iphone 3G, and it works fine with it. I don't even receive an "Airplane Mode" warning.
