Great iPhone FM transmitter / charger / remote,
This review is from: Satechi Windshield Mount Fm Transmitter for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch with Remote Control (Electronics)
4.5 stars.Excellent sound quality - as good as if it was plugged directly into my car stereo. No GSM buzz (I've used other brands with my iPhone and had to stop using them because of the buzz) Great way to listen to podcasts and charge my iPhone at the same time using just using the 1 cigarette lighter. (I need to have my iPhone charging whenever I'm in my car because the battery life on the iPhone leaves a lot to be desired)

Decent FM Transmitter.....,
This review is from: Satechi Windshield Mount Fm Transmitter for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch with Remote Control (Electronics)
Works for the I-Phone 3GPros: Side arms securing the device Remote Control USB port and input jack (for other devices) Cons: Static from incoming FM Station (not strong enough output or strong station in Southern California) Message stating that it is not compatible. Flexible arm attachment hard to attach to device (warning on box stating you must use force) An incoming phones call causes a huge distortion. Overall, it isn't bad, but I had to make some adjustments like using my headphones as an antennae (putting my earphone across my visor and putting the jack in (not all the way plugged in)) to get a clearer and stronger reception. It is convenient since Southern California has the hands-free law, but if you live in a city with many radio stations, I would not recommend this device. However, if you want to secure your I-Phone for navigation purposes, it is pretty good. Hope this helps some of you decide whether to purchase or not.

I had a problem with this product and my iPhone. Satachi is a superb customer service company in the same league as Nordstrom and Zappos. (Amazon, take note.) They replaced my iPhone and refunded my money and couldn't have been nicer about the whole thing. I have some friends who use this with their iPhones and they report it works really well. it's so great to find a company you can trust.

This is a great product. The transmitter is very powerful, strong and sturdy. Some transmitters fail after exposure to high temperatures and direct sunlight. This one does not. The remote actually works with the iPhone, that is very hard to find. There is even a USB port if you don't have an iPod. The winshield mount is also great, it doesn't slip around. This product is absolutely perfect. I would strongly reccomend this product for everyone.

This item is not worth a penny. First off, it's too bulky to attach to your windshield. If you do decide to attach it, it won't be long before your Ipod goes flying to the floor, but don't worry, the device will still be attached to your windshield. This device doesn't come with any instructions to show or even tell you how to securely attach the part that holds the Ipod, to the part that holds the window attachment.Second, only like 3 buttons on the remote actually serve a purpose. Most of the buttons are non-functioning. Third, the static will drive you nuts. It's crazy annoying trying to change the radio station and the channel on the device. Last but certainly not least, I purchased this item September 2009, and by January 2010, it does not work anymore. It's now deceased, broken, dearly departed, DOA, DEAD!

These people rock! Doing a little research I found that Satechi and I am in the same area (San Diego), so thinking I would save on shipping and receive my item faster, I called to see if I could pick up. I was told a friendly yes and given directions. When I arrived I was given the mount and asked if I wanted someone to install it for me, (what girl wouldn't like that)! I already liked these people. Once we arrived at my car, the install was a breeze and I gave the guy my iPhone to hook up but alas, it did not work, apparently, with the iPhone 3.0 update and my antenna bing in the back the FM signal is too weak. The guy even went back and forth from my car several times to try each FM transmitter they produce. I was very impressed. He/they went above and beyond. Furthermore, I can testify that it is not the product, but my car/situation, as when the iPhone was hooked into the transmitter, if placed in the back seat closer to the antenna, it sounded AWESOME super clear. Buy from Satechi, excellent customer service, and rad products.

Descent,
This review is from: Satechi Windshield Mount Fm Transmitter for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch with Remote Control (Electronics)
I've only had this a few days now, but so far it works pretty descent with my iphone. I don't have any static coming across the car radio, but when nothing is playing and the phone is on the Home screen there is a buzz noise. I haven't had any issues with it securing to the windshield. I've driven down gravel (pot hole filled) roads and through road construction and the thing stayed attached. The charger cord is short, but it is coiled, so it will strech out. I put it in my wife's van, which has the cig lighter on the floor and it reached, but it was streched out most of the way. There are 2 things I don't like about this. There is no memory (like another review said), unless you keep it plugged in. Once you unplug it from the cig lighter, you have to reset the station, so hopefully one of the lower or higher frequencies work for you. The other is probably limited to using this product with an iphone. When I start it up, it automatically start playing the ipod app in my iphone. I mainly bought this so that I could listen to apps like Slacker and Pandora, and not necessarily my the mp3z in the Ipod app. So right away, you have to shut that off every time if you want to play music apps. Those apps (Slacker & Pandora) work fine playing through this. The frequency this defaults to is 87.6 (or something like that). My radio doesn't go down that low, but I did read a review on one of these similar products somewhere, on how to get your radio to reach this frequency. But I have not been able to find it again. If anyone runs acrossed it, please post a link here for it. That would be helpful with this, so you wouldn't have to change the frequency all the time.

There are better ones out there.,

After only two days of using this product, I have decided to return it because of the following:Poor grip to Window (Fallen twice so far while driving) Poor FM Transmitter (Lots of Static and Distortion) Poor Display (If the car is too hot, which in California is Inevitable, the display turns black and needs 10 minutes to cool down and be readable) Short Cable (There's not many places in the car you can put it unless you get an Extension cable.) No Memory (It always defaults to the lowest station possible; meaning if you want to listen to your music on Channel 107.1 instead of 87.6, you must dial up to 107.1 each time you start your car. This takes a very long time.) Thats it really. If anything, I would recommend getting this one: iPhone FM hands-free car charger/ Holder/ adjustable armgear / FM transmitter - works with all iPod/iPh 3G]one It has a GREAT Transmitter and there is no interferance with calls or Wifi

Very good product. Works great. Will block out fairly strong radio stations. In this location, I need to use the upper most frequencies - still occasionally I'll hear a little static between songs, but usually it's hardly noticeable. I LOVE the remote control feature - extremely helpful when you are driving!! Would definitely recommend. Thinking of buying one for our other vehicle. The only trouble I've had was that the arm is VERY hard to attach. Luckily I had one from a previous purchase that I was able to attach quite easily.
