looks like the imac and very good quality but my caveat is if you have your iphone in a case you have to take it out of the case before you put it in the stand every time. a bit annoying.

Makes my iphone look like an iMac,

I bought this product because I needed a place to put my iphone at work. I normally place it on my keyboard, but it would slide down every now and again. Now with this product my iphone looks good and I can view all messages with out worry of it falling. Even if you turn it upside down it stays in the holder. In addition unlike other holders I can get access to all the controls (volume up/down, standby button, headphone jack and recharge dock). This product is truly the iphone's best friend.

I use this everyday at my office! Taking it in and out about 5 times a day. EASY to use! Puts the phone at the perfect -- and adjustable -- angle. Worth every penny!

Flimsy and not great. The part that holds the phone is all cheap plastic which feels like lying when your product is called an "aluminum stand".

Sometimes, when working, a movie on my computer is just too distracting. Now I can watch a video while working, or watch live news on MobiTv, or can open a book in iBooks or Kindle, and set the book on a corner of my desk to read. Nice for viewing a quiet little slide show at bedtime, too. Well-made, doesn't take up a lot of space... Great little iPhone stand.

Looks Great - Functionality is debatable,

This product looks great and is well made. However the overall funcitionality is debatable. The iPhone goes in easy - however, taking it out is another story. About 50% of the time it pops back out nicely the other 50% is a wrestling match. If I had to do it all over again I probably would pass on this item. It looks cool but isn't very practical. As I move from my office to attend a meeting or am on the go removing the iPhone is a hastle and I rarely remember or feel the need to redock when I return to my desk.

I was very happy with this product when I opened the package. It's what can be expected for $30, in terms of fit and finish. It does what it says it does, and I like that. My problem comes when I try to "eject" the device from the holder. If you have a cover on your phone (which you should) it has to come off, and that's fine. I also have an Invisible shield which is awesome. The problem is that this causes the phone to be very difficult to get into, and out of the holder. The "ejection" button is useless. I have to pry it out every time I use it. Perhaps the tolerance should be dialed back a tad. If you have a naked phone it will work great.

Aluminum may be a flattering material and match your macbook quite well, but be warned it also makes for an insubstantial display stand.
Using buttons on your iPhone requires you to awkwardly hold the back of the stand to avoid having your iPhone fall flat on its face or having the hinge bob up and down. The design would benefit greatly from having the hinge angle lockable through a tightening mechanism on the back, but sadly that does not exist.

Purchased this in hopes of replacing my digital frame at work. When you slide the iPhone in this and turn on iPhoto's slideshow, it works and looks great especially when the device is in the landscape position. Enjoy that feeling when you first get it, for everything's downhill from there.
You can/need to plug in the sync cord on the side to continue to power the device. The slide show evidently takes up a lot of juice. This sleek aluminum device suddenly has a cord sticking out one side. You could plug in a headphone/audio wire on the other end to really kill the sleek look to look like you are running a cold fusion experiment. To get the phone out of this holder you have to: 1) pick up the entire device, 2) unplug the power/sync cord, 3) press a button in the back that partially dislodges the iPhone from the holder, 4) throw the iPhone into your other hand for it to fall out (think getting ketchup out of the bottle). It's not hard to do and I'm not implying that this device is improperly engineered - I don't think I would want a less-snug fit. I think if I could do it over again I would stick with Apple's portrait-oriented stand and re-engineer my slide show for portrait instead of landscape.

Port Access,

This IPhone stand looks really cool and I would like to buy it. However, on the picture the opening for the sync port is over to one side. The iPhone 3g sync port is centered between the speakers. So one is left to wonder if this stand will alow for the sync cable to be used and if the speakers are still audible. Has anyone bought this item?
