Satellite Finder Meter For Directv

I could not line up my DirecTV satellite antennae, so I bought this meter, at a better price than I could find on e-Bay or anywhere else ( by about $35.00!). I still could not get it to work, so I called in a professional installer. It turned out the problem was elsewhere, but I was most impressed with the meter, and so was the technician. He said it worked better than his did, and after fixing the real problem, used mine to line up to the satellite. When I told him what I paid, he said he was going to replace the one he had, and order this one! We had 80 mile an hour winds come through this week, and of course, they blew my antennae off target. Lined it back up in minutes!

The product isn't very useful for aligning the DirecTv Slimline 5LNB Dish. If your going to install the Slimline 5LNB yourself and haven't aligned one of these dishes before, watch the videos for aligning the Slimline 5LNB Dish on YouTube, and then select one of the meters shown in the alignment videos.

My first meter was defective,I was sent another and it work perfect.But the next time I used it,it did not work, just like the first one.Two in a row are good odes that the next one will be the same.Buy a better meter.

After following the brief (horribly translated) directions, the Satellite Finder would not indicate any kind of signal. The resolution for this was to simply open a window with the volume up on the TV; this ended up working out fine.
The actual signal (as indicated by the DTV receiver) is around 97%. . . as an experement, I re-insterted the finder into the line. The 'Satelite Finder' registered Zero.
Solid Do Not Waste Your Money rating.

I purchased this item in hopes it would help setting up my direct TV Satellite receiver. Not the case, It will lock on cell phone towers & repeater towers and give false readings. It can't distinguish between these different services. A real waste of your money. If I could rate it lower I would!

The needle didn't move. Something was rattling inside. It did make the beep, but it didn't help. I wouldn't buy this again. This same meter is sold by other vendors under different names. Avoid any meter that looks like this one. I don't see how hard it is to just test these meters. They should at least make sure that the needle moves and it beeping works.

For all who need a cheap way of adjusting your dish in Iraq... use your TV. your TV is actually better to find the signal for AFN. I hooked this up and read the directions... lets just say, it was easier to use the TV. I never saw that it was only used for Direct TV, could possible work for that.

The product seems to have an intermittent short. Either that or the instructions or not complete.
I would not recommend this product

The instructions for this product are almost non-existent. Perhaps if you were an expert in this area it may be of use but it does little good for the average user.

It didn't power up. Their was no power supply I did exactly what the instruction said. It mentioned a power supply. It didn't work. But u get what u pay for. Cheap!
