Color of Clouds brings three talented musicians - Kelli Scarr (v), Daniel Chen (p), and Nate Greenburg (mix) - together who previously collaborated in the short-lived but much celebrated early 2000s band Moonraker. Discerning folk electronica fans may have discovered Color of Clouds from their promising debut EP, The Look, or from their songs being featured on various CW shows last year.

Satellite of Love showcases the exceptional quality of the songwriting and production that these three musicians can muster when they put their minds to it. The electronica leaning songs (The Look, Wonder, Let Go, I Want You) promise exciting remixes. Moonraker fans will be glad to see that Lullysome has been revived and given new life. As has the title track, which is an ambitious cover of an iconic Lou Reed song. When combined with the folksy tunes (Brother, Come Back to Me, Haunts Me), listeners will be surprised by the group's versatility.

The song lyrics sometimes feel vapid, but the strength of the album rests on the musical arrangements and Kelli's vocalizations. Kelli, who spent much of 2009 touring with Moby, will release a solo album later this year. Color of Clouds will likely appeal to fans of Feist and Bjork. However, neither of these ladies have anything on Kelli whose vocals carry a simple majesty.
