Burn!,

With edgy guitar rhythms and Sammy Tonic's hungry vocals, the Busstop Hurricanes provide a rare blend of baja-surf and burning lust. Their on stage presence is even more compelling, witness Twisty Le'mons. I borrowed this CD from a friend over a year ago and have yet to return it. It is constantly in my CD player.

I enjoy this band completely, they play in Orange County a lot, they need to get out to L.A. more! "Gift from God" is my favorite track. "Lab Rat" is kinda weird, but still good. Dig the girl guitar player!

I enjoyed all the musical selections on this CD, there wasn't a single song on it that I didn't listen to over and over and over.. Especially Blue Eyed Devil, Gift from God, and Monte Carlo. This definitely makes my top 10 CD list!! My ears are so overcome with sexual tension I can't bare to listen to anything else for at least 2 weeks, or at least until the swelling goes down!! You gotta love The Busstop Hurricanes!! Where can I get more????

I saw these guys a couple of years ago, playing a happy hour at my university. I remember really liking them, though, I dont know how much of that had to do with the beer. At any rate, they were definately a cut above most of the acts we had playing. I remember commenting to a friend that they sounded like the doors if they had been a rockabilly/swing band... only to have them rip into a song that sounded EXACTLY like "Love Her Madly" about 15 seconds later. This is among my favorite CDs that I picked up during these sets. "Blue Eyed Devil" is brilliant, and everyone should hear it at least once. 3 years ago (during the swing revival), that song would have made these guys famous if a radio programmer had picked up on it. "Gift From God" is pretty good too. Check it out if you get the chance. |
