A Genius on the Piano. Great for all who love piano,
By G. Stewart "Debussy & Sibelius Freak" (Chesapeake, VA USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Satie: Gymnopédies Nos. 1-3; Gnossiennes Nos. 1-6 (Audio CD)
Erik Satie is one of those composers that a lot of people haven't heard of, but of whose music I am sure you have heard at least once or twice; this album is an example of those songs.
Gymnopedies are probably Satie's most well-known works. The music is beautiful whether played on piano or orchestrated. Gnossiennes are also commonly played and equally as entertaining. If you enjoy classical piano music, this will not disappoint. If you enjoy composers such as Debussy, Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninoff, this will be right up your alley. I love the music of Erik Satie and think that any piano lover will also. Check out this or any work by Satie and you will not be disappointed. |
