Exceeded expectations!, February 8, 2011

I have a large collection of the "for relaxation" series which I think is all together brilliant! That being said, the "Satie" CD was instantly my favorite. The opening number grabbed my attention right away. I find Satie haunting, hypnotic, surreal, elegant, and dreamlike yet so simple. I am discovering classical music for the first time and Satie's style matches my own personal style (but I could see how his music might not be appealing to everyone because of the fact that it seems so different). The CD is a bit shorter than some of the other releases in the series but nevertheless, it's still my favorite of all (with "Debussey" coming in at second, followed by "Mozart", for anyone who is interested).
