About the Author
Carolyn Marie Souaid is the author of three previous collections of poetry- Swimming into the Light, October, and Snow Formations, all from Signature Editions. Her work has been produced for CBC-Radio, and has been published nationally and internationally. She has been a guest on Global TV, CBC-Radio (This Morning, Art Talks, Home Run) and on TVO's More To Life, and has participated in numerous literary festivals across Canada. Arguing for a poetry that opens rather than closes doors-one that crosses boundaries and remains kinetic-Carolyn Marie joined forces with former Vehicule poet Endre Farkas last spring to co-produce Poésie en Mouvement, a moving anthology of poetry on board Montreal buses. In fall 2004, she was one of 27 writers selected for Random Acts of Poetry, a highly-publicized national event which sent poets out into the streets of their communities to read to fellow Canadians-a first in this country. Carolyn lives in St-Lambert, Quebec.
