Satin Nickel 4 X 4 with 5/8 Radius Spring Door Hinges

I replaced the middle regular hinge with this spring hinge and now after my dog pushes his way back into the house the spring hinge works to close the door behind him. It saves me from getting up and closing the door behind him everytime. It also keeps from letting the A/C out if no one is around to close the door. It's easily installed and has a tension adjustment that you can set according to your needs. I would highly recommend this hinge for anyone and it blends in very well with the other 2 regular hinges I have on the same door. It took only about 5 minutes to switch out.

What can I say? It's a door hinge. It looks nice. It works. It doesn't squeak, creek or groan like many of the (inferior) chinese door hinges out there. It arrived quickly and packaged fine. It's on a door opened MANY times a day and working well.

Like the other person wrote, It's a hinge. It works well enough. I used two on one door hoping the door would latch itself when the dog came back in but it usually won't latch the door. I only rated it as a 4 because I only recently installed but mostly because the screws were a little short especially for an heavy exterior door. I went out bought longer screws. Still, these hinges are 25% the cost as the home centers.

The spring hinges have been installed and working for at least one year without fail. The hinges arrived only two days after ordering.

Great if you want to know EVERY time the door opens! Sounds like a spring is binding inside, no instructions on installing or setting the position.

The photo shows a gold colored hinge, but these are actually silver colored. They are also advertised as made by Lawrence Brothers, Inc. of Sterling, IL., but they come in a box with no manufacturer's name and say "Made in China." They seem to be an okay hinge if you realize that "nickel" refers to the color, not to the material. If you're hoping for gold, these will just be silver.
