The title of Paul Carrack's new album is absolutely perfect. This is music that just feels good to listen to. It's nice to hear Carrack's familiar voice again, and this new album is the sort of thing you can turn on and suddenly everything seems alright. It really is soothing to your soul and at the same time there's a range of musical styles here that keeps it interesting. I can already tell that is going to be one of those inspiring CD's in my collection that I never get tired of. Great stuff!

Classic Carrack,

I recently bought 'Satisfy My Soul' and it's great to hear Paul Carrack's music again. This record is classic Carrack. The songs are new, but it feels like you've heard them before too. A very familiar feel and sound. It's great to hear him back doing what he does best! If you liked what he did with Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics, you'll enjoy hearing him again, guaranteed!

Carrack "Satisfy's " your need for Soul.,

Paul Carrack may have one of the most recognizable voices and least recognizable names in the world of pop music. In the last few years fans of the artist who's the voice behind timeless classic songs like Squeeze's "Tempted" Ace's "How Long" and Mike and the Mechanic's "The Living Years" have been given a lot of new material from Carrack. On his previous two solo albums Paul performed smooth and upbeat Synthesizer laden material. Although the both discs were excellent they were somewhat interchangeable in their style. This CD is not just a rehash of old Carrack music but a wonderful offering with less keyboard oriented smooth pop and more soulful styling. The grooves on this disc are just plain infectous and will have you tapping your toes in no time at all. The Standout songs are the title cut " Satisfy My Soul " a midtempo number with a rhythm like "Under the Boardwalk" and "Inspire Me" a song that catches you with some great hooks. The only downside to this disc is that it is a not a good "first listen". You need to give it a few turns on the CD player to truly appreciate what a great disc it is.

This man, Paul Carrack must have one of the finest soul voices to come out of the UK. Very much under-rated in England. This is a great album. I would recommend it to any one who has a soul!

Smooth and Silky,

If there is any artist that is "under-appreciated" it has to be Paul Carrack. This guy could write a great song in his sleep, and when he works with Chris Dilford, the results are magic. Buy the album and you will be pleased. Finally, smart music for smart people who can appreciate a good song and vocals. Keep singing Paul and satisfy all of our souls.

Another Solid Soul/Pop Album,
By A Customer
This review is from: Satisfy My Soul (Audio CD)
Paul Carrack- the man with the aching blue-eyed soul voice produced his own cd this time. "Satisfy My Soul" sounds like a lost hit single from the 60s- sorta like "Stand By Me". "My Kind" is classic Carrack- midtempo soul/pop with a great vocal. "Running Out Of Time" reminds me of his work with Mike & The Mechanics. "Better Than Nothing" is a good Steely Dan song (written by Carrack).Carrack plays most of the instruments on this outing- which isn't necessarily the best thing. This one pales in comparison to his great "Blue Views" album, but is still adult contemporary music for people with good taste.

Vocals Good Amidst the Sameness,

Paul Carrack sounds very good on this latest CD, an obvious tribute to what we once fondly termed "soul" music. The songs are pleasant and listenable, although they all seem to sound a great deal alike. This is moreso in the arrangements than the actual song structure. However, this "sameness" keeps this from becoming a "classic" Carrack collection. It's good music to relax by, so if you're a Carrack fun, it's not a bad investment.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon Music ...,
By Dave M "Insurance Agent, Singer/Songwriter" (EVERETT, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Satisfy My Soul (Audio CD)
The first thing one might notice about Paul Carrack's latest album is that he produced it himself. More often than not, self-produced albums do not represent an artist's best work. Individually, the songs are vintage Carrack; blue-eyed soul with strong melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Collectively, they comprise an album of music for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Missing from this recording is the punchiness of his previous work. There are really no uptempo tracks. WHERE WOULD I BE and SATISFY MY SOUL are the only obvious singles here. THE ONLY ONE is a beautiful heartfelt ballad that Carrack sings quite low in his register with great effect. Athletes do not train without coaches. Singer/songwriters shouldn't record albums without producers. Even the best ever (The Beatles) employed a producer (George Martin). And Carrack would do well with a producer telling him he needs to kick it up a few notches on some of the tracks. Otherwise, it all sounds like Sunday afternoon.

Brilliant title track,

I first heard the title track of this album performed live in the studio of Michael Ball's Sunday Brunch radio show on BBC2. It's a brilliant song...simple yet profound. The rest of the tracks are exceptional as well. A totally "satisfying" album.
