Rebecca says she is in Apple Trail to visit her brother (Mike from Making Her Nights) who recently married. Coming off a break up, she's really in town for a week to channel her old self and have some fun.
Grant is reeling from his mother's death and in town to claim his inheritance, a run down yet grand old home on 1000 acres of land. His mother's death has lead him to make some changes in his life including no more fast women and make a home for him and his triplet brothers.
Rebecca trying to escape her brother's ongoing questions offers to show Grant his new homestead. She's already decided he will do quite nicely for her week of fun. Only thing is Grant claims he doesn't want that type of relationship anymore. Grant tries to do the right thing but in the end, he just can't help himself and gives in. I loved the character of Grant. He was sweet, fun, and sexy. I really felt there were a lot of layers to him that weren't explored and I personally wanted to peel those layers away. I especially wanted to know the story behind the tattoos.
I had a hard time liking Rebecca. At first she was saucy, mouthy and seemed so sure of her self and I liked that, but then she shared a story about her past with Grant and she was no longer that person. It was like a switch had been flipped and I had trouble buying it. Then she withheld something pretty big from Grant and I wanted to knock her upside her head. Thankfully Grant is a great guy and he apparently didn't have the problems with her I did!
All in all, I did like this book. It gave a little more about the history of Apple Trail and I hope we'll get more on that in the future. The sex scenes were of course good. That being said, for the first time in one of Keri's books I truly felt a little cheated in character development. I honestly felt like there was something missing in the middle of this book. Despite that, I still give this book a solid three stars and if you've read the previous books you'll want to read this one too. I'm looking forward to the next in this series and Keri's new series based on Grant's triplet brothers!
