5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking house music., January 11, 2002

In my opinion, this is a landmark recording. Frequently, DJs and electronic dance music in general are criticized for not being real musicians or not being truly creative. This attitude stems from a misconception that all producers and DJs do is press buttons and spin records, lacking any real sense of musicianship. Anyone who listens to this album will realize that this is a fundamentally mistaken view. The level of musicianship and creativity displayed throughout the album is astounding. The entire recording, while primarily house music, is influenced by all sorts of musical elements that encompass many genres, giving each song its own distinctive sound. Notable tracks include "Deconstructed House" and "See Line Woman". This album is a joy to listen to over and over again and I highly recommend it for those who enjoy good music, no matter what the preference. For those who feel they don't understand what dance music is about, listening to "Saturday" will be a truly enlightening experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars rhythmic house, not electronic, September 26, 2009

This is a great album thoughtfully spun by Sydenham. Its funky latin beats and house feel will keep you moving and bumpin' whether you are in your car or on your feet. I first heard this in a small record store in Miami and was completely taken. If house isn't your thing, you will still love this album b/c of all the fresh percussion, globally inspired vocals and the seemless transitions from track to track. I highly recommend keeping this on hand for a party...even if its just by yourself!

For those who already know the both producers it won't bring any bad surprise at all except this lp is a huge compilation of their best tracks in 1 masterpiece.
For those who not, this album is probably "a must have" bringing you a brand new blast in the deep house movement...I should say the awaiting lp since Kevin Yost and its outstanding first album "One Starry Night".
Once again US djs prove they still can innovate and re-create fabulous sounds and gorgeous tracks.
