Not The Best of Amy Poehler, July 7, 2010

I'll say one thing about Amy Poehler from the start; I think she is an excellent comedic actress, and was one of the few capable and quirky people on SNL during her time on the show. Naturally then I bought this collection upon its release, only to be severely disappointed.
These are not Poehler's best bits:
With the exception of the Clinton impressions, the skits in this collection are unfunny at best and worse than a middle school comedy at worst. The skits, such as the "dollar bill" v. world currencies bit is quite possibly one of the worst pieces of SNL I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of bad SNL. I recall laughing only once or twice during the entire video, and that's not a good thing for comedy.
Poehler was a subplot:
In some skits Amy Poehler is seemingly a background character. While watching parts I thought "shouldn't this be on a best of Baldwin video? Or perhaps a worst of Casey Wilson?" Best of should feature the best of Poehler, not her costars.
It's not funny!
This collection was simply not funny. It did not do the one thing that comedy is supposed to do.
Again, let me say that I love Poehler's work, but if you are looking for something that's a good representation of her work, don't buy this. Go for
Parks & Recreation: Season Two.
