5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing.
Completely brilliant. Amazingly written, and flawlessly executed.

This book is definitely one of those things that immediately lead up to a serious self realization moment. I found myself laughing out loud and even crying in some parts... It's amazing that although fictional, the characters encompass so much of those everyday moments, and even more of those...

1.0 out of 5 stars Amateur at best....
The writing style is simple, the plot is predictable and the characters are under-developed, I was not at all impressed. A nice effort on the authors part however this book is one that will quickly find its way to the bargain bin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing., June 21, 2008

Completely brilliant. Amazingly written, and flawlessly executed.

This book is definitely one of those things that immediately lead up to a serious self realization moment. I found myself laughing out loud and even crying in some parts... It's amazing that although fictional, the characters encompass so much of those everyday moments, and even more of those lifelong burning questions, about love and why you have to go through the hard things, etc...

I am not a reader. At all... The last book I read cover to cover was in High School, and Im very hard to impress and even harder to completely captivate. I was COMPLETELY in love with the book and I couldn't put it down.

That in itself is an amazing feat.

:)

Thank youuuu. :D

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read!, April 9, 2007

A word of caution before starting to read this book...make sure you have enough time to finish it because you will NOT be able to lay it aside until you have completely read it cover to cover!
The characters become your friends and you just HAVE to find out what happens to them next and how it will all play out in the end.
The book is filled with vivid descriptions of the characters and the places they visit, it was fun to read about familiar places in the Twin Cities.
This is one book I will be telling my friends about!

I truly enjoyed this book. The twists and turns that the characters lives take keep you reading. If you have a soulmate, you will truly understand this book. If you haven't found your soulmate, you will still enjoy this novel. Having a soulmate, I connected with this book in so many ways. Enjoy the journey with Adam and Jen!!

Saturn Return will take you on a your own personal journey whether you like it or not. What a fun and intriquing read! I kept thinking...who is going to play Adam and Jen in the movie? This will be a great date flick when it hits the big screen (think "Sleepless in Seattle") but until then, add it to the 'must reads' to refresh your hope in romance as well to remind you that you need to laugh at yourself! There's a bit of all of us in this book. If Saturn Return doesn't affirm you are already blessed with your soulmate, then it will convince you that you need to be!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book -- you'll love it, June 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Saturn Return (Paperback)
I have a 50 page rule -- if it doesn't captivate me by then, I don't finish the book. This one got me by page 2. I have finished reading it -- living it is more accurate way to put it. It was a little eerie because in some ways, I felt the story was reaching beyond the pages into my own life (and I suspect the author intended it to do that). All sorts of details in the book seemed taken from my own life, so much so that it began to seem like I was a character in the book or like the book was now being played out in my life. It's a fun read, and like another reviewer wrote, I laughed and cried. And took the book everywhere with me until I finished it. Thanks, Mr. Levine, for the adventure!Saturn Return

I'm not a big fan of fiction, but I couldn't put this book down. It is a great romantic fairy tale and the characters are extremely likeable. I learned a lot about how men think about romance, and loved the fact that it was set in all of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for some escapism (and advice).

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy and Endearing, July 21, 2007
By
This review is from: Saturn Return (Paperback)
Started the book at 2:30, finished at 11:45 stopping only to:
pick my daughter up from camp, talk to 2 friends to try to explain why I was so enamored with this story and check my email. I read the book cover to cover (including the author's notes, dedication page and note that noted characters were not based on real people except for one person (who now I am curious beyond curious to know who she is).....despite my having to work in the morning. I didn't want the book to end, but couldn't read fast enough to get it all in. I have to say I cried several times thinking of my grandmother (gone for almost 12 years) and my 7 year old nephew (who has been gone a year this month) and think and hope they are looking out for me somehow. I am writing so that the author knows that one more person was touched by his characters and his story. Hoping another book is in the works by Mark Levine...

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun book, May 14, 2007
By
This review is from: Saturn Return (Paperback)
Saturn Return is a touching love story, but more than that...it's an exploration of the main characters' journeys of self-discovery with a few of fate's curveballs thrown in for fun. It's hard to describe too much of the plot because there are many twists and turns along the way - no spoilers here...read it, you'll like it!

Also, not only is Saturn Return a great love story, it's a love letter to Minneapolis and the Twin Cities with trips to the Mall of America, Nicollet Mall, the Medina Ballroom and Nye's, Esquire Magazine's choice of hippest bar in the U.S., among other fun locales. The author manages to capture humorously, yet lovingly, many Minnesotan stereotypes while still showing that the Twin Cities are a great place to be.
