Editorial Reviews

What do the following things have in common: George Adamski, Fascists, Nazi scientists, American engineers, the CIA, the Wall Street Morgan interests, I.G. Farben, ITT, SS Commando Otto Skorzeny, the post-war Nazi International, American Intelligence and the Mafia Drug Lords?

About the Author

Joseph P. Farrell is the internationally known author of several books in alternative science and history, and is a popular speaker at numerous conferences, including the 2009 Laughlin UFO Congress and the 2009 Ozarks UFO Conference. His books have been translated into Polish, German, Italian, French and Russian. He lives in California.

More About the Author

Joseph P. Farrell was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1957, has a B.A. in Biblical Studies and Philosophy, an M.A. in Historical and Theological Studies, and a Ph.D. in Patristics (NOT physics as one of his publishers keeps insisting on saying in spite of his best efforts to get them to change that!). After a lifelong interest in alternative history, science, and a fascination for ancient texts, Joseph started writing in 2001 on these subjects. He also studied pipe organ from the age of six until beginning college, and composes classical music for friends and family. He also plays the harpsichord.

I am a fan of Farrell's work, and that is no secret. The reason for my consistent appreciation of his work is simple: his work is consistently outstanding and deals with important topics which will radically change the way one views the world.

This book is easily one of his best. While maintaining his usual style of measured delineation and careful argument, he also manages to pack the information in a bit denser form than usual. Since this book contains many overviews of topics rather than in depth investigations of each one, this contributes to the sense of density of the information.

What Farrel has produced here is a prima facie case for a true breakaway civilization existing today on this planet. Drawing on the work of others such as Richard Dolan, Carroll Quigley, Richard Sauder, Paul LaViollette, John Loftus, Charles Higham, and many others, Farrell does indeed build a very strong case for just such a civilization in our midst. As always, his work is cited and referenced heavily, with appropriate caveats and calmly measured analysis behind every page. Some of the documented statements herein will astound you.

The civilization he outlines is deeply rooted in the financial, corporate, military, and intelligence structures of post World War 2 society. While the roots of this civilization go much farther back in time, he concentrates on the more contemporary signs and consequences visible in recent history and today.

The connection between the financial and business community, the Nazis, the oil industry, illegal drug cartels, the intelligence and military communities, and scientific circles is outlined and documented quite clearly and unambiguously.

I have been a fan of Farrell's for several years -- and I anxiously await his new book in Nov 2012 which is a follow-up of this one. While Dolan and Komarek also examine the Breakaway Civilization (BkCv)concept, in his usual thorough and detailed approach to a topic, Mr. Farrell scores high points with this book -- finally he is connecting all the dots for the readers who have wondered where the Nazis went, what they did with advanced technology, and how it all fits with the Military Industrial Complex that Ike warned us about. Well, it has already happened, and the subject of UFOs is very tighly connected with that of Breakaway Civ's. To date, Dolan and Komarek supply other missing pieces of the puzzle -- sure to be included in Farrell's Nov 2012 book. Especially see pp 103-105 and 249-253 in this book being reviewed.

There will not be a disclosure (sorry Dolan and Greer). When you understand the BkCv topic and how the past 60 years of UFOs (really IFOs as the govt knows what they are) it is clear that things have gone too far down the road for the govt or Air Force to come out and say "Gee, we couldn't control our own airspace", "There are others out there who are more technologically advanced than we are", "We can't tell you what really crashed at Roswell but we want you to think it was ET-alien", and "There has been a BkCv since the end of WWII that has already gone to the Moon and Mars" -- people are going to be very upset. IF the whole truth comes out, it will be released piece by piece by the above-named authors, and then the public will still have to connect some of the remaining dots for themselves.

After reading this book all I can say is: wow! There are a whole bunch of disparate threads drawn together here in a very thought-provoking dissertation. I'm not entirely convinced by his theory of a breakaway civilisation, but Joseph Farrell has done a good job of presenting evidence that is very suggestive of the idea and in doing so, touches upon things that I have been wondering about myself for many years. In particular, the whole question of George Adamski (co-author of the enigmatic Flying Saucers Have Landed) and one of the founders of the "contactee" movement in the post war years of the late 1940s and early 50s.

Flying Saucers Have Landed was the first UFO-related work I ever read - way back in 1968 when a copy mysteriously materialised in my childhood home. It made a huge impression on the juvenile me and I still refer to it from time to time. I have been wondering for years whether there was a secret agenda behind the book (from both Desmond Leslie and George Adamski) and whether Adamski genuinely believed he was in contact with the benign, but impossible, "Space Brothers" he described or just a fraud out to make a buck from the UFO phenomenon.

Joseph Farrell too has pondered that and seems to be of the opinion that Adamski was the pawn of a post-war breakaway civilisation. One with a very definite agenda and a technology that is just far enough advanced from that of the rest of the world to make it appear "alien" despite its entirely terrestrial origins. He makes a good case for this technology being based on an alternate physics and related technologies initially developed in Nazi Germany and further refined in the West following WW2 in black projects, such as those developed by the Skunk Works et al in the USA.
