5.0 out of 5 stars Great running shoe for value., February 25, 2009
I am a Saucony customer for life. I have put too many miles on these shoes to count and they always deliver. Great support, good breathability and strong construction. In my experience, the sole wears out before the shoe itself. Will take what you dish out and give you the confidence to keep doing it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great trail/pavement shoe, August 6, 2010
This review is from: Saucony Men's Grid Excursion 3 Trail Running Shoe (Apparel)
I've been a runner for 26 years and a trail runner for about 10 years, and picked these shoes up mainly because the price was right. I hadn't run in Sauconys for quite some time, but these have been a very pleasant surprise. I'm admittedly a light-weight (male, 5'8" and 135 lbs), but still, compared to other shoes I wear, I feel they are wearing exceptionally well. I usually run in size 10 or 10.5, but I definitely needed 10.5 in this model. I have run a trail marathon, 50k and the JFK 50-Mile in these shoes (in addition to quite a few training runs). They were particularly nice for the JFK 50 since it has about 10 miles on the pavement, a technical off road section on the Appalachian Trail (13 rocky miles), and many miles on the smooth but unpaved C&O towpath next to the river. I chose these shoes for the JFK because the tread pattern is very capable while not being overly aggressive; this makes them excellent on both pavement and groomed trails in addition to being very good on the more technical sections. I have other trail shoes with very aggressive treads and they are miserable to run in on pavement. If you like to mix pavement and groomed/technical trails in the same run, this is a great shoe.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Cushioning, July 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been running in these shoes for 150 KM and an very happy. I don't over pronate or over supinate and run around 10 km per week. In the past I've had various joint pains (knee, hip, ankle) but haven't experienced any problem that's stopped me from running while using these shoes. The new pair seems to be a lot firmer than the one I picked up last year. I bought the first pair because of the strong cushioning but the second pair doesn't feel the same. I wish shoe companies would maintain the same structure for a couple of years for specific models so that when one finds a pair that works, one doesn't have to immediately go out and buy several pairs to ensure that they are all the same.
