Product Description

Building on its award winning pedigree, the Kinvara 4 is a perfect synthesis of celebrated design elements from previous versions. The redesigned upper continues to utilize FlexFilm for a lightweight, seamless feel. Kinvara loyalists will love the upgrade from ProGrid to PowerGrid in the heel landing zone for even smoother transitions and an improved overall ride.

PUT YOUR FOOT IN ITS PLACE

The magic of the Kinvara 4 begins with its meticulously designed internal booty construction. It provides a nice sock-like fit while keeping your feet and tongue (shoe, not mouth) in place. And there's no need to sweat the little things thanks to the HydraMax collar. It keeps feet happy with a comfortable plush feel and its superior sweat-wicking abilities.

FLEX APPEAL

Ever have that feeling? That seamless, flexible feeling? You will every time you step into the Kinvara 4 thanks to FlexFilm. It's a strong yet flexible material that adapts to your feet and allows for fewer layers in the upper.

THAT'S SOME MIGHTY POWERFUL SOFT

The brand-new PowerGrid system combines Powerfoam material with GRID technology to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It centers the foot and absorbs impact so you don't have to. And here's a fun fact: EVA foam is lighter than rubber. That's why we use it to construct the midsole and the outsole.

Saucony Kinvara 4 Running Specs
YOU'RE A MACHINE. HERE ARE YOUR TIRES.

Enjoy supreme traction action on terrain of all sorts thanks to the outsole's tri-lug design. It also creates a piston-like effect to help propel you off the ground and improves overall responsiveness while contributing to a cushiony ride. The outsole itself is made from XT-900 premium carbon rubber, making it a champ against wear-and-tear. Made for you. Now, make them yours.

Keep your transitions smooth and your feet secure with the award-winning Kinvara 4 running shoe from Saucony.

These shoes are light weight and very comfortable.

Some light weight shoes come with poor support and no sole cushion but Kinvara always equips enough support and cushion for long run and races.
    Yoshiaki Sasaki
The shoes weigh almost nothing and it feels like it when running too.

I wouldn't buy these shoes unless you are an experienced runner and know what a lighter shoe can mean in terms of minimal support. This isn't a bad thing but if you need cushion and compensation for pronation issues this probably isn't the shoe for you.

If your body (joints) is accustom to a minimal design and neutral support this shoe is really awesome. This is my second pair of Kinvara. I had the 3 before so the 4 has some minor changes in tread and a different mesh fabric for the upper.

In high school I was a cross country and track star and I always had light weight running shoes like racing flats. I am a long way from that kind of shape and time period. I wear heavy boots 42 hours a week at work walking on concrete. It is enjoyable to wear light sneakers outside of work. These shoes are the lightest ones I have ever had and very comfortable. I have ran in them and walked in them, walked the streets in them, gone on to my everyday life in them. Also good outside in the yard they are very very good at not tracking mud and yard debris into the house as the bottom is a light foam material that mud has a big problem sticking to. Also price bought at the time was 40 bucks under the price of the same shoes at a common lower cost shoe store. The laces rarely come untied and they slip on and off easily without damaging the shoe. That habit killed my last shoe.

These shoes still are comfortable but top material is torn right above the small toe on both feet. These will most likely be retired soon as the tearing makes them not attractive. I still love them and would buy again at a low price. Dropped a star due to poor durability. Then again if you are a road warrior this should not be a problem. It is good to change shoes after 400 miles or a year of wear for healthy feet.

I thank you to all the reviewers who reported tearing in these sneakers. If we got more updated or time trialed reviews Amazon would be a much better place. I have another household item that never lasts long and some of them have five star and 100 or more reviews without any updates or a review from a person who has used it for more than a month and that is disgusting. Please check the "was this review helpful" boxes more too and save people from wasting money on junk. So many reviews including many of mine are not helpful and I am going to fix mine soon.

I've been running for seven years, completing races from a distance of 1 mile up to 50k and every distance in between. I started racing in Kinvara's a few years ago but only at shorter distance like 5K. I gradually transitioned to exclusively run in Kinvara's and have run 10k, half marathon, marathon and 50k trail runs in them and they are excellent at every distance. I put in 60 mile training weeks on my Kinvara's and I've been injury free for three years. Great neutral, light running and racing shoe.

It looks likes and is comfortable, but this shoe has some serious durability issues.

I have had this for about 1.5months (less than 40miles) and the upper is already starting to tear. It is in the same exact location on both shoes (on the outside, right above the pinkie toe).

I definitely will not be buying another pair.

I bought 2 pairs of kinvara 4 to prepare for a marathon.
Pros: comfortable toe box, low drop that promotes midfoot strike, light, astheticly attractive
    Cons: durability
At first sight, these are really sharp looking shoes. when you start to feel them in your hands, they begin to draw you in . They fit comfortably, have a 3-4 mm drop, and again are so light they make you feel like running all day. except you cant. in less than 3 months the shoe will begin to fall apart. my pair tore where my feet widens, on the upper outer lining next to my pinky toe and on inner part next to my big toe. itll be costly to keep buying shoes throughout the year. im only into 3 months of training at 25 miles max/week, its very upsetting. i would not recommend this shoe.

I got on board with the 2, transitioned through 2 pairs of the 3, and now love the 4! I saw someone post that the toe box was smaller but I actually feel like I have more room up front and no issue with my Achilles. So far I have about 100 miles on these and expect many more. I still don't show much wear on my 3's...maybe I need to step it up!

Bought these shoes for my husband 6 weeks ago and after 3 weeks one of the shoe's top lining starting ripping and now the other one has too. They are the kind of rips that spread quickly and now we have to buy another pair of shoes for him. Not these ones though! These were a waste of money.

I bought a pair of these and I was immediately impressed with the feel of them as well as the support the Kinvara offered. I loved these shoes so much at first. I liked them all the way up to the point when the material on the side wore off and the toe began to separate. I don't run that much, maybe 15-20 miles per week, but these shoes didn't last me more than two months. I would have really liked to love these shoes because of the features I already mentioned but the durability is sadly lacking so I can only give it mediocre rating. Saucony is (was?) a good name in the running world as well! Now I am trying to find a new favorite shoe and I am lost again. Well, such is life and happy running to you all!
