I run about 1200 miles a year, so good running shoes are very important to me. I had been using the Nike Air Equalon +3, which is a great running shoe, but after my third set (I replace my running shoes every 400 miles) I wanted to try something else and bought the Progird Hurricane 11 at my local running store. It was a good decision.
These running shoes are very comfortable and cushioned, stylish looking (I bought the white design), and have a nice medium arch for an overpronator like me (if you don't know what this means or how to determine what kind of feet you have, just do a Google search). While these are not better than the Nike Air Equalon +3, they do have a somewhat different fit since I seem to "feel" the road a little more, which I like, though this is a matter of personal preference. I am very happy with these running shoes and recommend them. Like many running shoes, they run a little small, so you need to try these on and can't just go by your street shoe size. Update February 9, 2010: I just bought my second pair of these since it was time to replace my old ones. I am still very happy with these running shoes. I bought them on Amazon for $90.00, which included shipping (I have Amazon Prime), and was the lowest price around. These running shoes list for $140.00, so the Amazon price is really good. Update June 16, 2010: I just bought my third pair. These are great running shoes, and Amazon still has the best price around. Update September 12, 2010: I just finished reading the book Born to Run (which I have reviewed on Amazon), which in part advocates using running shoes that simulate running barefoot, i.e. shoes that are not highly cushioned, let you "feel" the ground, and encourage you not to land on your heel for a less injury prone running experience. I have just started using the Nike+ Free running shoe, which I have reviewed on Amazon, and think is terrific. While the Saucony is still an excellent running shoe, for now I am going to be using the Nike, which provides a different kind of running experience.

I've been with Saucony for a few years now and I have yet to be disappointed. I've always worn trail running shoes and this shoe had a high review so I figured there wouldn't be much of a difference. Well... there is a major difference. These shoes don't squeak. And by that I mean there's no friction between the shoe and the ground. I'm so used to sprinting and making sharp turns that when I slipped attempting to do a routine turn my jaw dropped. I guess it's not Saucony's fault because it's a running shoe not a trail running shoe. Anyways, for running these things are the bomb. Like all the other Saucony shoes I've had, these things are as light as air. It feels kind of like wearing a sock. The arch lock is really supportive and a nice feature. I love the padded area around the heel box. When I run I can't feel the shock from each step. So if you're knew to Saucony, don't be shy. I promise you these shoes are among the highest tiers of running shoes. I just wouldn't recommend making sharp turns or running in the rain ;]
Oh yeah, I got the maroon color scheme...pretty sweet

The shoes arrived promptly and are a true fit. They are high quality. The only issue that I have is that the arch support is not as good as I had hoped and as described.

I have been training in the Saucony Pro Grid Omni 8"s for a few years and wanted to try the Hurricane 11's. It is a very sturdy , lighter weight training shoe. As I cannot do racing flats anymore due to my lower back pain, these are a very good alternative.

Very expensive for the black color. Not worth it IMHO,

A nicely constructed running shoe, but it is flawed in that the tongue migrates far to the outside. The loop on the tongue through witch the laces go is 3 up from the bottom. This does not cut it. It needs to be one or 2 stages higher, or the tongue will migrate away from center and be a pain in the ass.
I have always loves Saucony shoes, but this is a disapointment, especially for the price I paid for the black/silver.(About $130.00) Would not purchase again. I would gamble on another brand at this point.

I have been using the Hurricane since model 7 or approx. 5 years and have been very satisfied with it. The improvements over the years were minimal and have been focused around weight reduction while improving overall stability - target achieved! I weigh around 90kg and I run between 20-30 miles per week, approx. 1/3 on trails and 2/3 on asphalt and have not had any major stress symptoms on knees, hips or ankles. I replace them every 3 months as soon as I start to feel that stability or cushioning diminishes.

I had been using hurricane 10, I actually like the 11 better, the new shoe liner seems very comfortable and the shoe has great support. It's the best training shoe I've had so far. I wouldn't mind a lower price though.
