I noticed the bad review and am wondering, as the person that left a comment on that review stated, if she had a defective pair. It could also be that Saucony is not a good brand for her feet.
Saucony has proved to be a great shoe for me. I have a normal arch and a little bit of a wider foot. I've had about 7 or 8 pairs and all have been great. I'm a personal trainer and avid athlete and live in athletic shoes. I love this shoe. I purchased it for about $40 at a local retailer in my city and didn't have high expectations. I'm now trying to get a second pair. I love the look, I have the charcoal gray/black/blue style, as I don't like white on my shoes because it stains easily. They are great in rough trail hikes and for tough indoor workouts, since it's a lightweight trail shoe and not heavy duty trail, but does give more rigid support outdoors than a typical running shoe. This is one of the more perfect pairs of shoes I've ever had.

Great lightweight but supportive shoe,

I wear an 11W and have flat feet. I think these are stylish and are perfect for either athletics or daily wear. These were comfortable right out of the box. I've had them for approx. eight months, wear them once a week or so, and they're still very comfortable. I have a meniscus tear in my knee and lower back pain, and find that on the days I wear Saucony shoes, I'm in much less pain. Would definitely recommend.

Great sneakers! I use them for running and hiking and they provide great support. Didn't even need to really break them in either.
