One of my best and worst habits as a person is my constant dialogue with an internal critic. I'm always wondering if whatever service or product I got is actually the best for my needs or the price, or if I should try something new. Case in point: I only managed to stick to two generations of the Mizuno Wave Rider before I wondered if Asics might fit me better. After that, it was on to a particularly awful pair of Brooks that all but ripped my feet apart every time I ran more than a 5k in them.

Finally, after years of running, a girlfriend who was a veritable missionary for Saucony finally convinced me that the brand was more than just a popular, casual suede shoe for teen girls in the '90s. I bought the Saucony Triumph 10, and felt sold-for-life-- except for the $130 price tag (they're now $87.95 on Amazon, since they're last season's model). After two cycles of Saucony Triumphs, I was still happy with them but wondered if Saucony had something even more advanced out there or if I should consider transitioning back from a neutral ride to a lightweight stability shoe again. After reading positive initial reviews of the Saucony Guide 7, I got the shoe in February and have been running in them ever since, completing my second half marathon of the year in them at the Hop Hop Half last Saturday.

The first impression of the Guide 7 was that it was an extremely firm, supportive, lightweight ride. The shoes weigh only 8.9 ounces and have a minimal 8 mm drop from the front of the shoe to the rear-- a measurement that Saucony tests have found ideal for almost all runners. Saucony claims that the "lower offset of the Guide 7 activates and engages a runner's inherent ability to cushion, stabilize and spring forward [...

Purchased these for my 6th half marathon. They were comfortable through the entire race. Im a pronator so Im very particular about my running shoes. These held up and did a super job.

I have been wearing Saucony Guide for years. When I upgraded to the 7 I found it lacked the arch support I need. Ran 3 miles and my plantar fasciitis flared up. The never happened in my 5s.

Shoe runs a little small. I needed to order a half size larger. Very comfortable shoe. I love the bright colors

Years ago I wore Sauconys but then switched to Mizuno for a while, then Asics, then back to Mizuno. I have narrow feet and heels, and my feet are average to low arch. I also over pronate a bit. I like mizuno because they don't slide on my heels, but unfortunately they aren't overly cushy. I loved my old Saucony shoes, but they were very wide on my feet and gave me blisters. I decided to try these after reading reviews and comparing them to my mizunos.

The shoes arrived early this week and I was first impressed by the color. These are bright and fun without being too wacky...some others I've seen recently look like a rainbow threw up on them. I like fun, but don't necessarily like clown shoes! So from a looks perspective, these are great.

I wear full length insoles for arch support,so I slipped them in and laced up. Even with the insoles in, the shoes fit great and felt cushy...as I would expect from Saucony. There is no slippage in the heels, and they seem a bit narrower across the toe box than older models. Not narrow, by any means, but not huge like I remember. I have room to not crowd my toes or feel cramped, but also don't slide around or get blisters. I normally wear a 7 or 7.5 in most street shoes, but ordered these in an 8. They fit perfectly in that size. I always go up a full or half size in running shoes to avoid hitting my toes on the ends, and that rule seems to apply to this new model as well.

The shoes are also lighter than previous models, which is nice. I'm a fan!

I normally have a great deal of foot pain due to plantar fasciitis, but when I wear these I have practically none. I usually have a problem with my shoes not being wide enough and causing pain and numbness in my little toes, these shoes are wide enough in the c/d width. There was no break in period, they felt great the first time I put them on. I am a nurse and work 12 hours a day, I can tell a real difference at the end of the day in these shoes! They are really wonderful to take the pressure of your feet!

I really like the feel it gives me when I run. Very nice support as well. Never had considered this shoe before and would recommend it to anyone.

I have another pair of Saucony Guide shoes and they're perfect for working out and walking. I would recommend them to anyone who has a problem with pronation (which I have).
