I love this shoe!,

I'm an older teen and I have been running for about 6 months now. I HATED running so much because it hurt, I was always twisting my ankle and I was just downright uncomfortable. I figured it was just running itself but I was discouraged as my mother had lost a lot of weight running and I was having no such luck - because I couldn't push myself from the lack of comfortability.
I am a pretty petite girl, just slightly overweight and because of my petiteness I also have very small feet. I figured the reason I kept hurting my ankle was because of the size of my feet vs. my weight (5'1 and over 140lbs with size 3-4 children's sized shoe) I had actually been using a hand-me-down of my younger sister's because her feet are a woman's 8. My dad suggested I go get fitted for running shoes to improve my performance as a 5-k was coming up. I was kind of apprehensive as that meant that if he was paying for them, I'd be expected to run more. I was fitted and this was one of five shoes I could try on. This was the first pair I tried on and COULD NOT BELIEVE how comfortable a shoe could be! I have NEVER worn such a comfortable shoe. I knew right away that was the pair I'd get. I did try on the other pairs but still, I knew those were mine. I felt so comfortable during my 5-k and wearing the right shoes most definitely improved my performance. Just today I ran 4 miles in them and still can't believe how comfy they are. I run inbetween 2-4 miles 5 days per week and often will ride my bicycle recreationally at the local park about 15 miles and I have done so in these shoes since late April and they still smell like I just got them out of the box from the store. I've ran on the treadmill, in mud/dirt and on gravel and there have been no problems. Definitely affordable for the use you get out of them.

I have owned three pairs of this shoe. I first chose them based on a review and really felt good running in them (no knee pain or shin splints or pain in my lateral calf from improper motion). The next time that I needed shoes, I went to a running store and run on a treadmill so they could view my gait (I ran in some shoes they gave me). Ironically, they recommended these shoes. So, I bought another pair. I'm now on my third pair and don't see any reason to change to another shoe. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
I'm a fairly neutral runner (don't need much motion control), weigh 120 lbs. and run about 20-30 miles per week. I only wear these shoes for running to reduce wear. They have lots of room in the toebox.

Love Saucony shoes! After I had my 2nd child I started running again. I tried 3 different brands of shoes but the same problems would crop up, then finally got fitted for these. What a difference! It's like Saucony actually listens to what customers want and need! They breathe really well and are so comfortable. The mesh sides are my favorite. I used to to think I needed to 'wear my shoes in' for a day or two! Not any more. After my 2nd baby I got down to my pre-pregnant weight within a few months thanks to my shoes. Now, after my 4th (and final) child, I have started exercising again. On laundry and cleaning days, I wear them all day because they give me so much energy to get through the day. You can't go wrong with Saucony's.

I buy Saucony running shoes every time. They run a little wider then your average running shoe and they are very durable.

I am an endurance runner and typically put in about 5 miles a day on my shoes. Because of my mileage, I have to buy new shoes every 2-3 months. I purchased these shoes on the 3rd of March and they started hurting my feet, back and legs in the beginning of April :(. I use berry super feet insoles which are supposed to correct my high arch, so I do not believe my discomfort was due to improper use of the shoes. I put about 100 to 150 miles on these shoes and they broke down. In my opinion not worth the money I spent. I recommend new balance.

Truthfully, the only time I really run is when I am running to the oven when I smell something burning. Thankfully, this is not often. However, that being said, I do walk a lot and I have had foot problems for probably 10 years now. These shoes allow me to walk without pain. That should say it all. If it doesn't, I do have good sized feet that don't really look it in these shoes. At last... comfort and style.

Awesome Neutral Running Shoe!,

This is the fourth pair of the Saucony Progrid Guide 3's I've purchased. I have somewhat wide, flat feet. These shoes have been just the ticket for successful marathon training and everyday cross-training and weight lifting. I would recommend them for comfort and support. I've been reluctant to try the newest version since these have worked so well. I hope they keep making this version, because the newer ones seem very different.
I switched to Saucony after being fitted by a local running store and have never regretted my decision. I run 20-40 miles per week depending on my training and racing agenda. I weight lift 4-5 times a week and cross train about 5 days a week with these shoes. I have a neutral gait and these shoes do not show wear quickly.

I am on my feet all day at my job and have been suffering from plantar fascitis. These are the only shoes that offer enough comfort for my feet all day. Great buy on top of it.

Perfection!,
This review is from: Saucony Women's ProGrid Guide 3 Running Shoe (Apparel)
Awesome shoe! I do a wide variety of workouts but like to throw in some light running a few days a week in the warmer months (4-5 miles a run). I'm tall, medium build with a heavy gait and high arch. Very picky about my shoes and only use a shoe specific to the activity. I knew I needed LOTS of cushion but I never tried a shoe with added light stability before I got prof. fitted. Had always had lots of post-run heel and calf tightness along with IT band and hip issues on and off. I also have a neuroma in my left forefoot and can still run just fine in these. Loved my Asics and other Saucony's but something was never quite right. These are the perfect compliment to my gait and build. I run pain free and in total comfort now. Ordering my 2nd pair and hope Saucony continues to offer them! My biggest recommendation is getting a professional fit to find the RIGHT shoe for you. Happy running!

Because of an arch problem in one foot, I have only been able to wear Adidas Classic for 10 years or more and just discovered they have been discontinued. I was in my panic mode when I went to my favorite, small, shoe athletic shoe store in D.C. I tried on the Adidas replacement, walked around the block and had horrible arch problems.
The next one recommended was the Saucony Guide 3. With little hope, I took a trial run 4 blocks plus, and couldn't believe they felt like home. They are perfect, perfect, perfect, after many miles, and hope they are not discontinued! Thank you Saucony! |
