This is an excellent running shoe! Fourteen years ago, when I was in high school, I had an awesome fitting pair of Saucony's. I've tried several times over the years to find a Saucony shoe I liked - no luck....until I tried the Omni 8.
For the support & stability the shoe provides, it is surprisingly lightweight. An important thing to me in a running shoe is the flexibility of the toe - and this shoe fits the bill =) I highly recommend this shoe for mild to moderate overpronaters. I ordered the same size I usually wear for running shoes, fit perfectly. (Nike is the only shoe I have to size up - half a size). I have Plantar Fasciitis in one foot - it did not bother me at all when running in these shoes!

I "road-tested" and then bought a pair of women's Saucony Pro Grid Omni 8 running shoes today. My first pair of Saucony shoes.I put them to the test with a run this afternoon and my feet, hips and lower back love them! The extra bit of cushioning is wonderful and the support for my 58 year old, high arch pronating feet is ideal. These are the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. I bought them at Runner's Soul in Spokane, WA.

I usually buy Nikes, but I just got a pair of these Saucomy Omni 8's today from my local fitness store. I compared these head to head against the Nike Nucleus, which is my current shoe which I was considering buying again. I found the Omni 8's to be more cushion-y and pillow-y feeling on my feet, and also I noticed they let more air in when I wore them outside today in 40 degree weather, I actually felt the air on my toes. For me that is GREAT because my feet get so hot/sweaty running (especially in summer) and it really bugs me.
If you don't like a shoe that is light and breathable and want something that is more sturdy and insulating for cold weather running, I suggest getting a shoe made with Goretex material. I do know Nike carries one of those, Because I own a pair, but I found it to be stiff and it had a "breaking in period" which was annoying. But these shoes are going to require no "breaking in" period. Comfortable right out of the box. When these wear out I will definitely consider buying another pair of these.

I have extremely flat feet, wear orthodics, have weak ankles and, to top it off, I am 6 months pregnant. My old shoes (different brand) made my back and legs hurt and did not provide the support I needed. After reading many reviews and comparing prices of these shoes in various stores, I decided on the Pro Grid Omni 8 through Amazon.com. I am so happy I did. I love these shoes! My orthodics fit perfectly in the shoes and, compared to my old shoes, I feel as though I'm walking on air! While I have not used these shoes for running yet, I wear them for my daily walks and have noticed a huge improvement in the way they feel compared to my old shoes. I don't want to take them off after putting them on. All of the reviews were correct - these are excellent shoes! They fit true to size. I would purchase them again and again. I'm sure I will be putting many, many miles on them and I look forward to it. I highly recommend.

Just to clarify things, I am not a runner and only recently started a walking and exercise program. Due to problems with extremely low arches and plantar fasciitis, I had difficulty finding a comfortable sneaker with good arch support. After some research I chose this particular sneaker and am very happy I did. It's got the support and cushioning I need in the arch and heel, but is lightweight enough for me to wear through exercise and beyond. Ran small for me though, had to order full size up.

I run about 4 miles per day/6 days a week and love running in this shoe. I don't have knee problems that I use to have and feel that they give great support. I will definitely order these againsince they work so well for me.

One of the more comfortable Saucony shoes,

I've owned a lot of pairs of Saucony sneakers over the years. I have three pairs currently, and this is the most comfortable of the three. I bought it in the White/Blue (it also has navy in it). I wear a size 11W & have fairly flat feet w/ an average instep and ankle size. These are so comfortable that I can wear them all day, regardless of activity, and they keep my feet feeling good the whole time. I don't use these to workout, but if I was a regular exerciser, this would be the pair I'd buy for that. They are lightweight and flexible enough while still giving support and structure. I never get that awful feeling of my ankle turning out or my feet coming in or out too much. They give support to my low arches without rubbing against them too much. They stay very clean and look brand-new after six months of wear. I didn't have to "break these in"- they felt great out of the box. I get absolutely no blisters, irritation, foot fatigue or any other problems with these. Lace-up shoes of good quality are a preventative measure against back, knee, calf, hip and foot pain. They also help to heal conditions of said areas. If that is what you're looking for, I believe these shoes would be good for you. In catalogs, as well, they are marketed to those with flat feet OR people with high arches that use orthotics. They are an investment, as are all good shoes, but they're worth it. As long as these are on the market and have the same quality, I will repurchase in whatever colors they have available.

Rubs high,
This review is from: Saucony Women's ProGrid Omni 8 Running Shoe (Apparel)
Was running on Ommi Grid Pro's before and that line has been discontinued so bought these as replacements. Unfortunately, the back rubs very high and blistered my achilles area within 1 mile. They measure 4.25 compared to 3.75 on my old shoes. Too bad - the shoes looked and felt good otherwise. YMMV.
cheers,

I have flat feet and over pronate. I got fitted in these shoes about 2 years ago and have worn them almost every day since. Before these shoes I could only participate in activities (shopping, walking, etc) for less than an hour before I would start to limp and have extreme arch and heel pain. With these shoes I can go all day with no pain at all. The placement of the arch is perfect for me too. I wear a size 10 and have longer feet so most arches are too far forward, but this one hits just right. When my current shoes need replacement about 6 months ago, I searched all over and couldn't find them anywhere (not even amazon). When I came across these today I was so exited I immediately bought 2 pairs.

These shoes have worked well for me. They are deep enough for my orthodics and are a good balance between stability and cushioning/light-weight/flexibility.
