4.0 out of 5 stars Great Arch Support and Cushioning
A fortyish female, 110 lbs, 5'2", run 25 miles a week currently. I have very high arches. My feet are narrow at the heel and arch but my toes fan out. Because of this, I need a generous tow box. I do not pronate at all and buy neutral+ shoes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Different than the Triumph 6 - beware!
I've owned 4 pairs of Triumph 6's and just purchased the 7's in the exact same size. They have way more cushioning - but I think they have changed their sizing and/or toe box? I have bunions - and the 6's have always worked SO well for me. I was 3 miles into my first run with the 7's...and had to take my left shoe off and walk home in my socks:o( They seem way more...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Arch Support and Cushioning, April 19, 2010
A fortyish female, 110 lbs, 5'2", run 25 miles a week currently. I have very high arches. My feet are narrow at the heel and arch but my toes fan out. Because of this, I need a generous tow box. I do not pronate at all and buy neutral+ shoes.

I had been running in Asics, they were great shoes but did not fit my feet properly. I purchased the Saucony shoes in order to correct toe problems I was having.

I have put 175 miles on my Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 so I thought I had enough info to give a report. I bought these shoes along with a pair of Mizuno Wave Creation 11 which I alternate runs in. I also have a report on the Mizunos which I have put 150 miles on.

I wear a size 6 in non running shoes. I bought a size 6 1/2. I wish I had bought a size 7, or tried the 6 ˝ in a wide width. The shoes fit well but I wish they were just a tad bigger. I wear very thin socks while running, if I wore thicker socks, they would be way too tight. If I buy another pair I will either get the size 7 or the 6 ˝ in wide width depending on which feels roomier to me. My toe problem has healed and has not recurred. I no longer tape my toes as I had previously.

The two big selling points of this shoe are:
1) The arch lock system. I have high arches...VERY high. These shoes are awesome in supporting my arches. They just clamp up to them and support the dog mess out of them. My arches never tire during a run....NEVER.
2) The big toe box. The toe room is generous. It is a little smaller than the Nike Airs I have run in the past, but is adequate. I think the nice snug fit of the arch lock makes the toe box SEEM bigger to me than it is. I feel like my arches are so well supported and then when you get past the mid foot...BOOM it just opens up really wide for my fanning toes. I really like the feel of that!

I do have to be extra careful to not lace and tie these too tight. I had a similar issue with the Mizuno Wace Creation 11, but it is much more important to NOT tie too tight in these. At one point I irritated the inside on my pinky toe on one foot. During along run I ran the last 2 miles in a lot pain from pressure on the outside of my foot. The next day I laced up loose and it fixed my problem. (I have a habit of really lacing tight!!) This is one reason why I think I really need a ˝ size larger than I have now. Tying loose is not a problem, I still have support and have not created a hot spot or blister, but even with thin socks I wish I had just a tad more room. I ran once with thicker socks on and that was NOT going to work. I blame this on me, not the shoe; I should have a larger size. It is not a problem for me to get 400 miles out of the shoe tying loose.

While running these shoes are very comfortable. They have a lot of cushioning and support. I do not feel the road much in these shoes due to the outstanding cushioning. On some days, that is just what I need. They do such a great job of arch support I could run a longer distance closer to my recovery day. Because of the cushioning, they do feel a bit sluggish to me. I do not feel I get as much power pushing off; like something is holding me back. They are still great running shoes, but I would not race in these or if I was doing a run trying to reach a certain time, I would wear my Mizunos instead (see my review of the Mizuno Wave Creation 11) I enjoy wearing these shoes on my easy long runs (7.5-8.5 miles currently) because they support and cushion so well. If I am running a long run at 10K pace, I go with the Mizuno Wave Creation for a lighter, less sluggish feel.
All in all these shoes are great for me. I use them for easy runs or runs where I am just feeling a little banged up and want more TLC on my feet due to the awesome cushioning they provide and arch support. I would not race in these shoes unless I had to. They are very comfortable and I do run good times in them, but they are heavier than the Mizuno Wave Creation 11.

I am the type of runner who needs a shoe to do easy training runs in where my feet and knees are pampered and another shoe where I can feel the road and haul it on some runs. The Saucony ProGrid are wonderful for my pamper days. They are fun to run in, support awesome in the arch and cushion my feet. They also have a durable tread that is good on slick roads but do not pick up annoying rocks in them.
I would buy these shoes again, but I plan to try on a ˝ size larger and wide width first. Also, I may try a couple of other shoes just to see. I am happy with my purchase and have had 175 great miles so far, I know I will get 400 to 500 out of these shoes! Well worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Different than the Triumph 6 - beware!, April 19, 2010
I've owned 4 pairs of Triumph 6's and just purchased the 7's in the exact same size. They have way more cushioning - but I think they have changed their sizing and/or toe box? I have bunions - and the 6's have always worked SO well for me. I was 3 miles into my first run with the 7's...and had to take my left shoe off and walk home in my socks:o( They seem way more narrow. Luckily I was able to return them to a local store and they are ordering me the wide...in a .5 size larger. Hopefully this will help!! If not, I will be SO upset!! I hate having to find a running sneaker that works for me!!

I was told that the cushioning is supposed to last longer in the 7's - which is a definitely plus. The 6's seem to wear out at around 300-400 miles...and that doesn't seem like much for a high end shoe. But, the 7's feel a bit more stiff and definitely have more cushion. Hopefully the larger/wider size will work! Not sure if anybody else is having this problem or not - going from the 6's to the 7's?

5.0 out of 5 stars A highly cushioned shoe, October 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been running in triumphs for ten years, this is a cost-efficient choice for neutral runners who want a highly cushioned shoe. It has helped relieve my shin splints and has good stability with some give and lots of cushion. Once I found this shoe, I stuck with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Loved the Triumph 6...the 7 runs small, November 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Rotate between new balance and saucony with my running shoes. LOVE the Saucony Triumph 6's but I ordered these in the same size and they were WAY to small. I recommend going up at least a half size, maybe a whole one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sauconys for UnderPronators, July 20, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am an "underpronator", and so need a highly cushioned shoe, with flexibility.

This shoe fits the bill. I find it runs true to size and the colors are attractive.

I don't have too many miles on them yet, so don't know how they will hold up. They had virtually no break-in period for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT SHOES, November 10, 2010

I purchased this shoe for my wife. She has some health problem. She is unhappy with her Reebok® Premier SF Ultra KFS. The reason is her Rebook new model is changed. In new model Reebok decrease the depth in side and it is not comfort to her. I complain their local dealer but they are not ready to help me.
This reason I change Brand from Reebok to Saucony for her. My Son Aman use this Saucony Brand since 7 years and he suggest me Saucony.
Her experience is excellent and wonderful. This shoe felt very comfortable walking, with good arch support and stable heel. She forget her old brand.
She like Saucony's features:
--cushioning shoe for the neutral runner
--Lightweight, breathable air mesh upper with synthetic accent
--Full-Length ProGrid(tm) with Respon-Tek(tm) absorbs impact, dissipates shock and provides a seamless transition from heel through forefoot.
--SSL (Saucony® Super Lite) EVA maximizes rebound and durability while minimizing weight.
I strongly recommended this shoe.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not What I Expected, August 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have purchased Saucony shoes exclusively for the past 10 years. As a runner and avid exerciser I have found these shoes to provide what I need in heel to pavement contact and arch support...HOWEVER, I was VERY disappointed in this particular shoe. Not sure what the difference was other than to say they "felt" hard and stiff. Plus the cushiony inside I come to love was unforgiving when walking or running. Can't say this will change my habit of buying saucony shoes BUT I do NOT suggest this particular running shoe. Very disappointing!
