The guide lacks detailed descriptions of the suanas. The author/editor could have culled descriptions for at least ONE of the baths in each major city, instead the listing includes address, phone number, website and a key showing pictograms of what is offered in terms of steamroom, video room, showers, etc. While that is fine it leaves out a lot that should be included about each facility (cleanliness, facilities highlights, types of patrons, etc., etc.) Sometimes a brief sentence tells of pricing or notes that the facilities gives free condoms. The guide does not help you decide which place to visit in a foreign town. Further the listings seem spotty, I can only speak for California when I say that popular venues were left out.

The guide is well layed out and one major plus is that it does list website addresses for bathhouses that have them. The book does little to stand itself out from the other gay travel guides, in fact like the others this one also has advertising on some pages - albeit from the bathhouses of that locale. It also has a number of pages of scantily clad men - but that lends nothing to the content of the guide. I would recommend skipping this guide and instead doing a internet search and visit the website, ..., which has listings of bathhouses through out the world along with other venues to meet gay/bi/curious men.

This is a great resource if you're travelling in Europe, the United States and most anywhere in the Western World, but it is woefully inadequate in its treatment of Latin America. I mean, come on, no listings for Venezuela? And the most popular sauna in San Jose is missing completely. If you're cruising for Latin meat south of the border, look for your information elsewhere.

I bought this book for the sexy guys on the cover. They are really cute. I thought I would find a sauna with these guys in it. I didn't. However the book does tell you where you can go (...) You will have to travel though, as I found out India has no gay saunas.

Definatly recommended for homosexuals.
