5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Slingshot, April 30, 2009
This review is from: Saunders Archery Co Saunders Wrist Rocket Pro (Misc.)
This slingshot is made of high-quality plastic. It folds into a compact shape that can easily be carried in a purse or backpack. The flat surgical bands have a nicer elasticity than the tube bands that I've used in other slingshots. The slingshot comes with a plastic pouch that is optimized for metal ball bearings. The pouch can be replaced easily with a leather pouch from another slingshot.

The biggest disadvantage of this slingshot is the slow reload time. The flat bands do not tend to straighten themselves after firing as do the tube bands, so you will have to look down and untwist them with some effort. Even worse, sometimes one side of the bands will become tangled in the other side of the bands, leaving you more vulnerable to enemy fire or to the charging squirrel.

You can actually attach tube bands to the front of this slingshot instead of flat ones, and the reload time becomes even faster than a conventional slingshot, though the tubes I have tried aren't as snappy as the flat bands.

This slingshot is fantastic. The brace gives me great control and assists my aim. It's a comfortable fit on my arm and is easy to use. It's quick loading and allows for a fast and accurate shot. Very fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous but big, August 7, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Saunders Archery Co Saunders Wrist Rocket Pro (Misc.)
Yup, it's BIG - - about 18" long and around a full pound. But the materials and workmanship are outstanding. This thing will last a LONG time - - the other reviewer was obviously put off by the materials. 300 shots would be just warming up for this puppy. Furthermore, the joints (weakest spot of any plastic design) are all easily accessible and could be repaired with standard hardware if they ever break. The power is higher than other slingshots because of the forward-anchored bands and, of course, the better flat bands. This is the highest velocity, flattest-shooting of all my slingshots, period. I can easily put all my shots through a paper plate out to 25 or 30 yards. It's also by far the most comfortable slingshot ever. Yes, the flat bands get snarled after a shot and it's slow to reload (make your first shot count hehehehe). Yeah, even folded up it's too big for a pocket unless you're a giant, but a purse or backpack is no issue. Overall, if I want a hunting, long-range tool, this is the one. For a short-range, fun slingshot, a small folder or even a simple old-fashioned Y-type works.
UPDATE after a few months:
The natural rubber bands rot in the sun very quickly. I had some bands in a drawer - - they are fine. But the ones in the sunlight (indoors near a window) crumbled into scraps. The Black Mambas might be better, I ordered some.
