5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Slingshot
This slingshot is made of high-quality plastic. It folds into a compact shape that can easily be carried in a purse or backpack. 2.0 out of 5 stars Broke after using it one time
I bought this for my son for Christmas. I was disappointed when the plastic end clip that holds the band broke during normal use. Luckily, it was not a safety factor at that time, but if it had broken on the draw, I am sad to think what the recoiling band and broken plastic part would have done to my son's face. I don't recommend this product. I am in the process of...

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Slingshot, April 30, 2009
This review is from: Saunders Archery Co Saunders Wrist Rocket Pro (Misc.)
This slingshot is made of high-quality plastic. It folds into a compact shape that can easily be carried in a purse or backpack. The flat surgical bands have a nicer elasticity than the tube bands that I've used in other slingshots. The slingshot comes with a plastic pouch that is optimized for metal ball bearings. The pouch can be replaced easily with a leather pouch from another slingshot.

The biggest disadvantage of this slingshot is the slow reload time. The flat bands do not tend to straighten themselves after firing as do the tube bands, so you will have to look down and untwist them with some effort. Even worse, sometimes one side of the bands will become tangled in the other side of the bands, leaving you more vulnerable to enemy fire or to the charging squirrel.

You can actually attach tube bands to the front of this slingshot instead of flat ones, and the reload time becomes even faster than a conventional slingshot, though the tubes I have tried aren't as snappy as the flat bands.

This slingshot is fantastic. The brace gives me great control and assists my aim. It's a comfortable fit on my arm and is easy to use. It's quick loading and allows for a fast and accurate shot. Very fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous but big, August 7, 2010

Yup, it's BIG - - about 18" long and around a full pound. But the materials and workmanship are outstanding. This thing will last a LONG time - - the other reviewer was obviously put off by the materials. 300 shots would be just warming up for this puppy. Furthermore, the joints (weakest spot of any plastic design) are all easily accessible and could be repaired with standard hardware if they ever break. The power is higher than other slingshots because of the forward-anchored bands and, of course, the better flat bands. This is the highest velocity, flattest-shooting of all my slingshots, period. I can easily put all my shots through a paper plate out to 25 or 30 yards. It's also by far the most comfortable slingshot ever. Yes, the flat bands get snarled after a shot and it's slow to reload (make your first shot count hehehehe). Yeah, even folded up it's too big for a pocket unless you're a giant, but a purse or backpack is no issue. Overall, if I want a hunting, long-range tool, this is the one. For a short-range, fun slingshot, a small folder or even a simple old-fashioned Y-type works.
UPDATE after a few months:
The natural rubber bands rot in the sun very quickly. I had some bands in a drawer - - they are fine. But the ones in the sunlight (indoors near a window) crumbled into scraps. The Black Mambas might be better, I ordered some.

This is the first slingshot that I have ever owned, so I cannot make direct comparisons. But I can say that it has a very comfortable, natural grip. It is easy to aim, and easy to store. I also like the fact that it is lockable.

I find the Wrist Rocket Pro to be everything that's advertised:
-More powerful than others on the market
-Very easy to store
-Accuracy is great, very easy to aim

I was surprised, too, at how the flatbands made the slingshot easy to drawback and hold steady. I thought it would be more difficult to pull back because of the added band strength, but it's not at all.

Overall, the slingshot rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Slingshot!, February 7, 2010

I think this is easily one of the best slingshots on the market. It is very powerful with its extended forks, and yet it will fold down into a small compact package. Saunders is a very innovative company and continues to turn out great products! I love the bands it comes with, as well as the Saunders Black Mamba Bands. However, I am currently alternating between using the Tex-shooter "Express" double-layer latex bands, and Gary "Flatband" Miller's Folded Latex bands on it, since they are MUCH more powerful and will work with most any ammo size. No matter what, this is a great choice!

I've had this for over 3 years. Get replacement bands right away, changing them is easy. I love shooting 3/8 ball bearings. Great product.

this thing is very powerful and very accurate. I had never fired a sling shot before this, but even my very first shots were very accurate at long distance. I'm using 3/8 inch steel ammo. I just ordered the tubular band to replace the flat ones that come with it because I read somewhere that they are even more powerful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Serious firepower!!, May 24, 2011

I researched several wrist rockets to begin my yearly battle with the tree rats aka squirrels and my tomato garden. I decided to go with this one and have been very impressed with the construction and power. It is made from very solid plastic and folds down too a very compact size. I bought 3/8 bearings but think you could use larger. The velocity is very impressive but accuracy is a bit of an issue. I think I just need more practice with it. We have also had a bit of snap back issues so be careful with the shooting arm.
