I don't usually write product reviews, but I felt so compelled to write about this book because it helped me out tremendously during nursing school and when I was studying for NCLEX... I purchased this book while I was in nursing school after an instructor of mine recommended it. I am sure glad that I took the advice. The book is a great review tool because it is in outline-style format. I love that the chapters are separated into categories (Cardiac, Respiratory, Mental Health, etc.), so it is easy to find just what you are looking for. I have to say though that the chapters aren't all-inclusive - it is NOT a Med-Surg text book, or like any nursing text book you have. This book contains only the most essential information - which is all that you need to know, really. The images and tables are all so very helpful as well. I used this book to prepare for all my exams, and did fairly well in all of them. I got "A"s and "B"s throughout nursing school (and one lone "C" - but that's because I probably did not use this book to study for that one class...) And if you must know, I graduated from nursing school mid-August '09 and took the NCLEX mid-September '09. I self-studied and passed the first time with 75 questions - without taking any expensive review classes. The only review books I used were this one, Saunders' Q&A Review and the Kaplan-NCLEX RN Exam 2010 that I borrowed from the public library (but I could care less for Kaplan's decision-making "strategies"). Don't bother spending $500 for silly review classes - all my friends said it was a waste of time and money. You're better off studying on your own. Overall, I highly recommend this book for all nursing students - it worked for me and it will definitely work for you as well! Good luck!

This is by far the best NCLEX review I've purchased (I also own the Lippencott, and Mosby books). This book has the most questions, the best rationales and the CD was extremely useful. I haven't taken the NCLEX yet, but since my university uses only NCLEX style questions on exams...this review book has been the one that helped the most.
I love the "review" sections that it offers in the beginning of every section. I highly recommend this book!

This book breaks down questions by category. It gives you information like patient teaching, nursing actions/interventions, rational ,medication information, as well as lab information. It is also very informative to help brush up on basic patho. Just about any question you could have about what is on the N-Clex was in there. I passed with flying colors. I also used this book to study while I was in nursing school. If there was something I did not quite feel I understood post lecture/ or reading, I referenced this book. I have purchased this book for a few friends of mine that are going to nursing school as gifts.

I purchased this book on the advice of my neice, an ICU nurse. I was having trouble studying for the tests in my nursing classes because there was so much material. I started using this book the moment it arrived and my test scores bounced up dramatically. I've had this book one month, and my test scores went from a C, to completing the course with a B+. What I love most about this book is that it has a review of all the systems and information in a complete concise manner giving just the information related to nursing, so I don't have to wander through all kinds of narrative to get to the facts I need to study. Best study guide I found.

I read this book throughout my senior year of nursing school. I was sure that it would help me pass the NCLEX. I did pass the NCLEX the first time, but I really don't feel that it had anything to do with this book. The questions on the test were nothing like the ones in the book. They were more like Kaplans.
Beware of the tests at the end of each chapter, the answers can be wrong. Read the answers carefully! I got so tired of finding wrong answers that I gave up on the book.
However, the information for review is nicely compact and to the point. The company just needs to pay for a professional proofreader.

If I were only allowed to use one book for all four semesters of Nursing school this would be it!! I am in an associate program wich is very condensed and this is the only book I read for content!!!! I have all the text books but just do not have the to read hundreds of pages of useless material. This book hits all the major points and everything on my exams can be found in it!!

I'm currently in nursing school and this book has been very helpful. IT has content review in every chapter followed by sample NCLEX questions at the end of each chapter. It also has a comprehensive test at the end of the book and a cd-rom with 3,000 additional questions. It has been amazing when studying for tests!

I used this book as my primary tool in studying and rarely needed text books or other review books to compliment the information within it. The questions at the end of each section were helpful because they helped me focus on what I needed to work on more. The "Pyramid to Success" points were helpful in guiding my studying, but there were some points I thought were important that were not highlighted. This was my primary tool for studying leading up to the NCLEX and I passed. There were minimal editorial errors and it was easy to follow. I thought the "Comprehensive Exam" at the end could have been broader, but it helped point out information I needed to review more.

I just bought this book to study for the NCLEX-RN and am very happy I did. There was about 4 questions out of the 80 I received on the actual test that were almost identical to questions from this book. The other girl I know who bought this book only got 75 questions on the NCLEX and said only great things about the book. If you want to decrease your chances of not passing the boards, BUY THIS BOOK!! Not only will you pass, but most likely you will get the minimum (if not close to) the least amount of questions possible.
