5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch!
Without a doubt this book is a must for nursing students or those preparing to take the NCLEX. I have used it tirelessly to study for tests through nursing school and it has proven invaluable. I like that the book is split up into sections by topic. Not all NCLEX books are designed this way. I also like that at the beginning of each chapter there is an outline defining...

3.0 out of 5 stars good review question, wrong format
I graduated from nursing school 4 years ago, and took the NCLEX for the first time last week. This book was a great review of things that I learned in nursing school (which I needed), but the practice questions (thousands of them) were alot easier than the ones I received on the NCLEX. The NCLEX doesn't focus on knowledge (as this book does), it focuses more on analysis,...

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch!, January 29, 2005
Without a doubt this book is a must for nursing students or those preparing to take the NCLEX. I have used it tirelessly to study for tests through nursing school and it has proven invaluable. I like that the book is split up into sections by topic. Not all NCLEX books are designed this way. I also like that at the beginning of each chapter there is an outline defining all the necessary information needed to critically think through questions. It's like having all your years of nursing school compiled into one book! Following each topic summary there are NCLEX type questions with answers that follow at the end of the chapter. Answers contain rationale as to why the given answer is the correct one. Probably most helpful are the test taking strategies. For anyone who has taken a standardized test such as the SAT or GRE you know it's all about knowing how to take the test...knowledge is secondary. FInally, the CD that comes with the book is great. In addition to the questions printed in the book, it gives you about 50 more questions per section to answer. Bottom line...get this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best review book ever!, February 15, 2006
This review is from: Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN (R) Examination Full Color Reprint (Paperback)
This book is the best. I just got it last week and already it has helped me a lot. There are priority questions where you list things in numbered order ,which is new for the boards. There are also pictures with questions, which is also new. Studying for my first exam this level(3 out of 4) with this book was even more helpful than I anticipated. I got to the test and noticed many familiar questions being asked and I sat there thinking, thank god I studied that review book. Worth every penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the one to use, July 19, 2005
I purchased Mosby's review and got about halfway through before I threw it in the trash. (The questions were written very poorly.) I got Saunders Review and the Q&A Review and found them to be much more consistent and resembled the NCLEX questions closely. Don't waste your money on any other review book; this will get you where you need to be. I passed my boards in 75 questions.

I just passed the NCLEX!!!!! :-)
Anyways, This book is a great review BUT the NCLEX questions in this book were much easier than the actual questions I saw on the test. Check out NCLEX 101: How to Pass! and Kaplan's NCLEX-RN Strategies for the RN licensing exam 2007 Edition for questions more like NCLEX.
Good luck everyone!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST NCLEX REVIEW BOOK, August 16, 2005
I would highly recommend this book if you want to pass the NCLEX-RN exam on your first try. Information learned all those years in nursing school is compacted into this book in such a way that won't make you feel overwhelmed. Diseases and treatments are simply put. The questions at the end of each review tests what you've just reviewed and the rationales provided at the end of each section are excellent. This book is the best I've looked at and I am happy to report that I passed on my first try using this book as my primary studying aid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and just what I needed, July 17, 2006
This review is from: Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN (R) Examination Full Color Reprint (Paperback)
This is a very comprehensive review. I know it's supposed to be but the format is broken down into very easy to understand sections. The test and rationales for each chapter are extremely helpful. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must-have for board reivew, July 4, 2006
This review is from: Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN (R) Examination Full Color Reprint (Paperback)
this book is the best!! a def must have for NCLEX preperation

all the nurses on my floor told me Saunders was the way to go, and they were right. This book breaks down each system, along with the meds in a simple, clear way. The practice questions provided in this book (as long as the Q and A book, which is another must have) were very similar to what the questions on the boards were like.

I recently took, and passed, my boards in 75 questions, and many times found myself knowing the answer because of what i had reviewed in the book. this is the way to go.
Kaplan helps with statagey, no doubt in that, but Saunders helps with content review.
Good luck to all the future nurses out there! On test day, relax, take your time, and never second guess yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent NCLEX Review!, March 4, 2006
This review is from: Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN (R) Examination Full Color Reprint (Paperback)
This is by far one of, if not the most detailed compilation of nursing review I have seen yet. The book itself is huge! I enjoyed the layout of the information. I'm actually in nusring school now, but still look to this book to provide parallel study facts as I progress through the program. All in all a great book.

I am a senior nursing student and this is the first N-CLEX review book I have purchased. When exam time rolls around it is part of my study routine. I don't see how I got by in the past without it! The pharm chapters are awesome and the alternate format questions are giving me a lot of practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passed NCLEX!!, August 7, 2006
This review is from: Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN (R) Examination Full Color Reprint (Paperback)
This book is thick but it has all the necessary info you need to pass the NCLEX. I covered the whole book in about three weeks and did the CD in between. I even noticed some of the questions on the NCLEX itself had similar questions to the book.
