5.0 out of 5 stars A very helpful review tool
Failing my first NCLEX attempt at 264 questions (one short of the max -I scored A and B averages in school), results said "near passing" on all categories. I was pretty upset. I had used books (including Kaplan passing strategies) that friends gave or lent to me, for my first attempt. For the second, I purchased this (Saunders) book, and immediately wished...

Failing my first NCLEX attempt at 264 questions (one short of the max -I scored A and B averages in school), results said "near passing" on all categories. I was pretty upset. I had used books (including Kaplan passing strategies) that friends gave or lent to me, for my first attempt. For the second, I purchased this (Saunders) book, and immediately wished I'd had it when I was in classes. Unlike the other books -which tended to be concept reviews and suggestion-based strategies, this book is essentially an RN program review. The disk-based test and review program it comes with is similar to that of others, but allows you to pick up where you left off, if you don't finish your review when you shut down the computer -this was unique among my other programs.
I've been recommending this book to other test candidates and students. After reading this book, I passed my NCLEX with the minimum questions required (75)-this was after the pass-level was raised in April 2004!
I cannot say enough about this book. If you get no other, get this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars PASS YOUR CLASSES AND THE NCLEX-RN, August 9, 2004

I purchase this book my first semester of school and it did not disappoint me. I hardly open any of my textbooks and after two semesters didn't even buy the required textbooks. Everything that you need to know to get you through nursing school is in this complete comprehensive book. I LOVE this book. Passed my boards first try at 75 questions. Used it to review and will keep it as a reference. Get this book you will not be disappointed you will be thankful.*****

Of all the review books i have bought (approximately 5), this is the one i rely on the most. it is so comprehensive, it could take the place of your nursing books. i have been using it since the 2nd semester because it covers everything you really need to know. if you can only afford one book, this is the one. the cd is great, since it is set up similarly to nclex. you can answer a few questions or sit down for hours and keep answering questions. ALSO- the best part is that ALL the answers some with RATIONALES! this is the best aspect of all. good luck!

I got this book during my first semester of nursing school and it has been invaluable in helping me to pass my classes and master the material. There is a ton of information in this text, so don't expect to just sit down and read it in a couple of days. I think that the majority of people would benefit most from this book by using it as they progress through school rather than trying to review it before taking the NCLEX. The CD is great and has tons of questions.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS TERRIFIC!!!!, May 2, 2003

This is the book that I studied the weekend before my nursing class tests. The format in which it is set up first gives me a total review of the subject which can be from 2-10 pages in outline form. Then it gives me all the information on which drugs I need to know for that particular subject outline. The last part of that chapter are nclex type questions with rationales (I learned sooo much from these!). I would then do questions when I was too tired for anything else off of the disc during the weekend or after I had "quiet time" to myself. I highly recommend it! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Head of the Class, June 13, 2002

I bought this book the second week of my first semester as a nursing student and have been using it religiously as a study guide for tests, information and quiz preparation. I am now in my second semester and I carry it with the rest of my textbooks to class and work. Each section of the text is devoted to a different system/disorder and the rationales, and tables of lab values are great. The CD contains questions with rationales for correct and incorrect answers and they seem to repeat themselves, when you have given an incorrect answer ten questions back, as a type of review. With this book and CD in my grubby little hand I am confident I will pass the NCLEX with flying colors.

4.0 out of 5 stars money well spent, May 29, 2004

This book helped me understand things that were unclear in lecture and on my unit exams. The review is very easy to understand and very comprehensive. The thing that helped me most is the rationales for answers to the practice test questions because when I came to questions on exams that I had no clue about, knowing the rationales for certain subjects helped me pick out the better answers to the questions. I think it covers all spects of nursing school wonderfully. I guarantee you will too!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Money well spent, March 17, 2004

I highly recommend this book. The content is clear and concise. The font is easy and pleasant on the eyes. The CD-rom is easy to download and I did not encounter any problems with it. The questions, 3500+ on the CD, test all body systems. The book is helpful in that it provides test-taking strategies to aid you in taking the NCLEX. I have read other sources for NCLEX, this one is far the best. I am preparing to write the NCLEX in May...Wish me a PASS and succes to you ALL...definitely worth the money!

I just passed my nclex exam on my first try with minimum of 75 questions--thanks to this book-- Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN. I looked around many books and also spent money on some books, but I finally selected this book. This book has everything what one need to pass the exam. One of the greatest feature of this book I loved is "clarification of the contents".It makes you to understand the concept just like a teacher. You can never pass the nclex unless you have understanding of the subject matter and this book helped me in that.I wished I had bought this book in the beginning of my nursing education.

I chose this book because it was the only one I found with a money back guarantee. I spent about three weeks following the book and I passed on the first try (the computer cut off at 75 questions). The rationals are great and the material is easy to follow. I wish I had this book throughout nursing school and not just for the boards. It also is a great reference book to use throughout your nursing career.
