1.0 out of 5 stars well it looks good, but......, May 31, 2006
This review is from: Saunders Nursing Survival Guide: Fluids and Electrolytes (Paperback)
In order to write a decent professional book, an author has to know the material to be presented and know how to present it. It seems that a major shift has taken place in Nursing texts over the last few years away from people that really know their subject but just present it dryly to lots of books that are presented in a friendly way and full of inaccuracies. This is one of the latter books.
The book really looks nice; the authors are real masters of the art of presenting concepts clearly. However, I only made it through the first few pages before giving up in disgust at all of the semi-accurate and completely inaccurate statements. I then skipped to the second chapter and it starts off just as bad. If the parts I already know the material for are this misleading, I don't want to read about the later topics that I don't already know and have my head filled with nonsense.

A book like this is really an insult and a disservice to Nurses and Nursing students. Saunders Elsevier should be ashamed.
