The book picks up where the previous books ended. Aric Savage was taken captive by his evil witch of a step sister in the first book. We pick up with him being tortured by her. Once she is done he is taken and experimented on and then thrown in a cage and see's that a team mate they thought was killed in the beginning of the first book, Micah Chase is in the cage next to him near death.

Rowan Chase is a tough LAPD officer who works in the gang infested East Side. After having to shoot a gang member who went rogue and put on leave she gets news about a possible location of where her brother Micah might be after being told he died in the line of duty 6 months before.

Rowan shows up at the compound where the Alpha Pack is housed and after being greeted by a pack of wolves and a black panther who suddenly turn into men she faints dead away.

Nick (the leader of the Alpha's) decides to tell Rowan the truth about them and about her missing brother. She of course has a hard time believing this but when she finds out they are preparing a mission to rescue what they hope are Aric and Micah she wants in.

The team does manage to get Aric and Micah back but were not able capture Aric step sister or Dr Bowman who has been experimenting on all shifters.

Aric realizes right away that Rowan is his mate but doesn't feel he deserves her for not telling the team about his witch of a step sister that got so many of the team killed. Rowan also feels the pull but ignores it and try's to concentrate on just helping her brother who is severally scared both on the inside and outside now from his time at the hands of Dr Bowman's experimentation.

When a mission goes terribly wrong, Aric Savage is abducted in the place of his packmate's mate. While held in captivity he's tortured mercilessly and used in horrible experiments and now on the brink of death he makes an amazing discovery. His missing packmate Micah, who they all thought dead, is in the cell right next to his, alive.

When the Alpha Pack comes in to rescues them Micah is virtually lifeless and Aric is weak, dirty and in a lot of pain but he couldn't help but notice the beautiful stranger accompanying his team on the rescue. He just knows there's something special about her.

LAPD officer and so-called dreamwalker Rowan Chase finds herself immersed in a fantasy world full of mythical creatures. In order to find her missing brother she must accept and believe everything she's seeing, fantastical as it may seem and once she finds her brother her only goal is helping him recover. She should not be so drawn to the sexy wolf shifter Aric but she can't help but to react to the incredibly strong pull between them.

No man has ever captured her attention as Aric does and it seems to be the same for him, but the relationship just appears to be a fleeting affair, not meant to last. Right? When Arics life is once again endangered, Rowan must decide how much she's willing to sacrifice for this man who is destined to be her bondmate.

Review
I love this series and I really loved this book! I read the first book right after it released and it quickly became one of my favorites so when this one released, I had to read it asap. Both the first book and this one are packed full of action, humor, love and pain. I love her characters, they're always very entertaining. I found myself laughing many time throughout this book.

This was the second book in the series and I thought it was better than the first book. The author creates a very interesting shifter world. The characters are all interesting and complex. Book books are very believable and the suspense is great. I think I've found a great new author and am looking forward to the next book in the series. I can't wait.

Aric Savage, former SEAL and current member of the Alpha Pack wolf shifters, had been captured at the end of the first book in this series. Aric was the foul mouth/flirt/fire starter that seemed to be angry at the world. After watching from a copter as his alpha pack team member chose to save his mate and leave him to certain torture and death, he believes that his anger has rightful cause.

Rowan Chase is a LAPD officer and the big sister of Micah, another member of the Alpha team. Micah had been missing and assumed dead for about 6 months. In book one of the series, the team member catch Micah's scent in one of the evil facilities they were attacking. Now they have reason to believe he's alive. Rowan will do whatever it takes to be part of his recovery.

What really makes this series worth reading is not the romance, but all the extras that is happening in the story. The facility doing experimentation, the fae, the extraordinary creatures (good and bad...I like that the author doesn't lump them all into evil), and the growth of the characters. i.e. Hammer talking and telling his real name to Rowan. I would definitely recommend reading this series.
