This review is from: The Savage Breed (Mass Market Paperback)
You want a western with drinking, fighting and whoring? Well then, Peter Brandvold writing as Frank Leslie offers up 234 pages of his latest Yakima Henry adventure in true fighting fashion.Let's be honest, it is what it is and this time around in the series there is plenty in each category as Henry agrees to lead a group down into Mexico to retrieve a silver horde. There's banditos, revolutionaries and several full fledged crazies to keep the storyline going at a clip. Is it fine English LIT? No. But is it a hoot to read? Yep. Think of it as pre-Navy SEAL, Special Forces or super Secret agent thriller type read where the only patch or badge of honor this warrior has is his Yellowboy rifle, his deadly aim and frontier justice. Did I mention the Kung Fu? No? Well then, read the series and follow along. Another book for the commute.
