Ms. Edwards' books vary in quality, but not too much in story. The beautiful white maiden is kidnapped by a Native American chief, and that is the formula used in this story. Ms. Edwards' books vary in quality, but not too much in story. The beautiful white maiden is kidnapped by a Native American chief, and that is the formula used in this story. Maria isn't a complete stranger though, as she has seen said chief several times since her childhood. However, he decides to kidnap her as revenge against her father and to use her as just a love slave.

Maria just accepts this and lets him have her despite the fact that he saw her as nothing more than an object to use for his pleasure just because she finds him so darned hot. Some of the dialogue and lines are awkward and laughable, but that is a mainstay of these Savage novels along with an extremely cliched ending.

I will not be reading any more since all of the Savage books I got were hand me downs and I don't turn down free books. I got about ten of them, and they're all pretty much the same so I'm glad I didn't spend any money on them, and I certainly won't be buying any in the future, there's plenty of better things to read.

The story was...fine. But am I the only one who thinks that Native American men on Ms. Edwards's book covers look more like Favio than an American Indian? She should really just let us use our imagination. That killed it for me...those covers...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not one of Cassie's best works..., May 11, 2002

I love Cassie Edwards, but this must have been one of the earlier Savage Series books, It appealed to me when I read it at 17, but now at 23....there's no attraction to the story. I'm sorry, but Cassie Edwards has written better stories than this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad......just plain bad., August 9, 2001

This book was terrible, I couldn't even finish it. The characters were shallow, too many exclamation points littered the pages, and I couldn't see a shred of realism from Maria. I felt like this book was written for an adolesant child (except for some screens of course).

Cassie Edwards has always written good books, but this one was not one of her bests. The only thing I didnt like was that the heroin played the "stupid" part very well. That was what soured the book.I love Cassie Edwards books, but this one does not do her justice.I recommend one of her other books such as "Rolling Thunder" or "Savage Heat".

Cassie's books are never boring. This one is a real page turner. Couldn't put it down until it was through.
