5.0 out of 5 stars Like a-holes; Everyone's got an opinion and they all stink
Hey one star reviewers did you read the book? Why is Mike Weiner's opinion more important that the author's opinion? That again is your opinion. Anybody who gives this book one star, and condemns bias, is either the kettle or the teapot.

This review is from: Savage Lies: The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Right-Wing Blowhard (Paperback)
The thesis of this book is that Michael Savage distorts and inaccurately presents information in his writings.

Although Savage is definitely passionate and often tends to overstate things in his argument by no means does it mean that he distorts them. Savage is passionate about what he writes and takes a no prisoner approach in his books.

On other hand the author of this book is just nitpicking things but does not address the bread and butter of Mr. Savage's argument.

You have a right to love or hate Savage but buying this book to "dsprove" his points would be a waste of money. Mr. Bowman's arguments are incoclusinve at best.

OK, I bought the book because I really don't like Michael Savage. But for gods sake man, if you can't find something other than emotional blather, please leave the debunking to someone who doesn't make all opponents of Savage look like idiots. This was poorly written, especially for a "journalist", and all the arguments were nothing but opinion. Yes I saw the god in the pledge stuff. But really so what? Is one omission worth a book? And badly written book at that, just thought I'd say it again. Please leave this to competent people like Alan Combs or the folks on the blogs. You were a journalist? Really?

Weapons of Mass Distortion: The Coming Meltdown of the Liberal Media

Aside from being the first listener with a Savage Fan Site,

I am one of the biggest critics of Michael, his broadcasters, his syndicator, and his own behaviour.

This book reads like some U.C. Santa Cruz freshman's BLOG. I've seen more accurate and poignant

writing from detractors such as GLAAD, and the various sucks sites. Making Do-It-Yourself

T-Shirts on Cafepress is one thing, but if your writing isn't good enough to be published professionally,

for pete sake, save some trees and post your gripes on the net...

1.0 out of 5 stars Who is dumber than this author?, August 3, 2010
This review is from: Savage Lies: The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Right-Wing Blowhard (Paperback)
The only person dumber than an author who thinks it is worthwhile to write a book bashing a social commentator, would be the idiot who thinks the book is worth reading. An even dumber person is the one who would actually pay money for such trash.

Savage can definatly get animated but more often than not makes a point that should be evaluated and not scorned because it flies against your views. Much of the claims of distortion are based on opinion.

I would not buy this piece of trash and I believe the author is another socialist lies to attempt to brainwash the young uneducated readers.

This review is from: Savage Lies: The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Right-Wing Blowhard (Paperback)
"Savage Lies: The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Right-Wing Blowhard" was probably originally titled "Bowman Lies: The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Left-Wing Blowhard"

Either way, you'll find this to be a poorly researched, even more poorly written sophomoric essay. Bowman, in fact, uses the same tactics he accuses Savage of to attack Savage. I really can't believe Bowman is actually a trained journalist.

My friend ( a staunch liberal / his book ) and I ( a conservative ), both sat around making fun of this poorly written paper-blog one evening .... reading it in our best spookiest and dramatic voices before recycling it.

Don't waste your life and don't kill a tree for this book. All it does is validate Savage's book "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder" ... so just read that if you want something to entertain you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Written, even harder to read, October 25, 2010
This review is from: Savage Lies: The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Right-Wing Blowhard (Paperback)
This book is short on evidence, long on emotional rhetoric and logical fallacies. For a so-calleed experienced journalism this si some of the worst writing I have seen in decades. This book would fail as a high school English assignment let alone a hard-hitting news piece!
