5.0 out of 5 stars Bird Girl Statue Large
I have to tell you I was in Savannah this year and saw the statues at the Telfair Museum, the ones thru your store are truley beautiful. Much Nicer!!Mine that my husband gave me this year for christmas has sort of a gold cast and its breathtaking-much finer finish. Excellent quality!! Of course typical of Marshall Fields-Sure wish they would open a store in the Atlanta...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a very true likeness of the statue
This girl cocks her left hip out a little, and the original girl stands straight and tall. The facial detail on this model is also very coarse, and the trunk and arms are incorrectly proportioned.

If you want a good "Bird Girl," look for a copy licensed by the sculptor's estate (Sylvia Shaw Judson).

5.0 out of 5 stars her arm broke off but I fixed it..., April 27, 2005

I love mine - got it as a wedding gift from my cousin - we went to Savannah together on a road trip & it was an awesome gift!!<br /> However, just last week, she fell down on carpet & her whole arm broke off at the shoulder - a clean cut so I used Gorilla Glue - you either have to clamp it or I used a clear tape to bond it for at least 4 hours - just be careful because the glue will ooze out & dry a tan color - I just used a razor blade once it was dry very carefully chiselled out the excess - this worked perfectly & she is now whole again and back in my garden - hope this helps folks!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Large and small Savannah bird girl, April 28, 2004
This review is from: Savannah Bird Girl - Large (Kitchen)
I ordered both items. I did read the product descriptions and dimensions however I was disappointed that the large one was so small. I just did not realize how small it would be!! I thought it would be large enough to use in my garden as a child size statue. Both are beautiful but for the price I was disappointed in the size. The statues are the prettiest one I have seen and if they were just larger, I would be thrilled. Measure carefully and consider the price. The quality is fine.

3.0 out of 5 stars a flaw, January 5, 2004
This review is from: Savannah Bird Girl - Large (Kitchen)
I received my 'bird girl' as a gift after wanting her for many years, after seeing her in Savannah [they moved her to the museum, out of the cemetery ]...I was surprised to see how many others had the same problem I did with the arms...both arms have 'cracked' but luckily not broken off...we're not sure how it happened, but we certainly don't lift her by under her arms or her head, we pick her up to move her by her torso now. I haven't yet tried to fix her...she's still 'near perfect' and I adore her anyway! Thanks for the tip on the possible 'fix'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Elegance for the yard, or house, December 27, 2002

i was just thrilled to receive this statue this holiday season.
I have a really large back yard with a pool and bird fountains and this statue just made the perfect focal point.

Also, I think that this would also make a great center piece for displaying flowers or even on a table inside for an elegant dinner party! Great gift!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality - breaks easily, January 12, 2007
This review is from: Savannah Bird Girl - Large (Kitchen)
Looked excellent at first, then statues (I have owned three) develope complete cracks around the lower dress portion which will separate when the statue is lifted. The statues were never outdoors and have never fallen. Very disappointing that the people with the licensing rights would vigorously protect those rights, but license a very poor quality reproduction. Since cracks and breakage appear to be common, the manufacture should look at other materials other than stone and resin.

1.0 out of 5 stars Savannah Bird Girl - Large, September 12, 2003
By A Customer

I loved this statue and thus ordered and received it. Later on it fell over on my wall-to-wall carpet and the head broke off and the arm cracked. Despite my correspondence with Signals, the best offer I received was a 35% off offer on a new statue priced at $189. The poor girl sits on my patio awaiting my being able to find any type of adhesive produce to put her together again. If you know of a product which will bind her permanently, I would appreciate it as despite her obvious flaws even if fixed I do like this statue a great deal.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I have wanted a copy of this statuary since the book came out.
Then the movie trailer made me want it more. I have seen imitations that were not worth buying. This was and is the most perfect one to date. I love it. I just wished it would have been at least a yard stick tall. It is beautiful, but a little short. I have seen concrete versions that are life size, but very ugly. This is the best copy anyone is going to get anywhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars She is beautiful, but ....., November 29, 2006
This review is from: Savannah Bird Girl - Large (Kitchen)
I received her as a Christmas gift, so kept her inside until Spring. She was so beautiful, I didn't want to put her outside for fear the weather would ruin her. I have never dropped her, she has never fallen over, and yet both arms cracked on mine as well. Other that, I just love her. She is the prettiest bird girl I have ever seen. Am disappointed about the cracking, as she is not cheap!
