I am so amazed there are no reviews of this wonderful series of 4 books consisting of sermons by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones om John 17 - Jesus' prayer. I have never heard teaching on this chapter in any church (not that there has not been any) & am so grateful for these studies. I doubt there is any passage in the Bible more important than John 17 for Christians yet it is largely ignored.
The series of sermons in this first book covers John 17:1-5 & is entitled "Saved In Eternity." The second book covers John 17:6-19, & is titled "Safe In The World." The third book is titled "Sanctified Through The Truth" & covers John 17:17- 19, though Dr. Jones spends quite a number of sermons (chapters) on just verse 17. The fourth & last book covers John 17:17-24 & is titled "Growing In The Spirit." These books examine subjects which every committed Christian should know about & I cannot recommend them too highly. Please read them, study them, meditate on what is written here as it is so appropriate & relevant to our lives! |
