5.0 out of 5 stars could not put it down, May 5, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Saved By The Monarch (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought this because of the RT review so I'll post that here:

"She didn't know it, but Lady Judith Marezzi was promised in marriage to Prince Miklos Kerkay when she was still a toddler, before she was whisked to her new life in the United States. Landing as a tourist in Valtria for her 30th birthday, Judi is surprised to find her handsome prince waiting for her -- and just as she begins to get the full story, they're both kidnapped by revolutionaries. As threats to the royal family escalate, Judi and Miklos must escape their captors to survive and keep the monarchy alive. Marton shoots from the hip, and her aim is dead on as the story sears along the nerve-endings and this mismatched pair battles each other and the enemy with rapier-sharp wit and unnerving daring."

5.0 out of 5 stars The more I read her the more I love her books!, January 12, 2011
This was another of Dana Marton's books I could not put down till it was done. The Hero's are sexy and the women are not wimpy or portrayed to be impossibly beautiful or naive as most authors love to make them. It is part of a series of books about the Kerkay brothers. Lazlo, Miklos , Benedek , Istvan , Arpad , and Janos. They are all Princes of a far off land called Valtria and though they don't know it yet, are all looking for the love of their life. She jumps right into the story and pulls you in with her. This book is full of all the adventure, suspense, danger, intrigue, and romance that you can handle in a book of so few pages. Honestly, I don't know how she does it so well. It's the book you read because you want a break from all the heavy reads, but then you never go back to the heavy reads because you figure... why do I want to read all that heavy stuff when I get all that adventure without all the boring details, in these books. Give it a chance and you will not regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner, August 18, 2010
This review is from: Saved By The Monarch (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
Every page pulls you right in!

When Prince Miklos prepares to meet his bride, he never had any thought that she would not be suitably prepared to fulfill the roll of a princess. But duty bound him to marry the bride that was promised to him when he was a child.

For Judi Marezzi preparing to turn 29 was a time to connect with the birthplace of her parents, what a wonderful birthday present to herself. Who would ever guess that this simple trip would include a prince, a proposal and a hefty dose of danger thrown right it?

For Miklos and Judi duty is duty, but what about love? Can they share a life together?

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Breathholding Story, July 18, 2010
This review is from: Saved By The Monarch (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first book in the Defending the Crown series. Even though I wasn't sure about it before I started reading there was just the right amount of suspense and Intrigue in it to keep me reading until I finished (and that's real praise since there are very few books that keep me that "intrigued" and I almost didn't answer the phone when it rang because I didn't want to put the book down. I felt sorry for Prince Milkos when he had to deal with Judi and I felt sorry for Judi when she found out what her trip to Valtria was really about. I loved that Dana made Judi just as strong as Miklos instead of a weak female who has to be saved. Now I am going to have to find copies of the rest of the books!!!!

Judi Marezzi grew up in the US but knowing that her parents were Valtrian.....What she did not know was that she was pledged by her parents to marry Prince Miklos. She was suppose to be told and trained as a princess by her aunt Viola but she wasn't. She was shocked to find out and being the strong person she was she wasn't planning on marrying Prince Miklos no matter what....of course that changed but she is still a strong person.
Prince Miklos was shocked to find out she had no idea of what had been pledged and knew he had to convince her to carry out the pledge but he also had to protect her from those who wanted the kingdom destroyed. He was totally shocked to discover who was behind the kidnapping and the uprising against the monarchy.

This review is from: Saved By The Monarch (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
Dana Marton's _Saved by the Monarch_ was everything you'd want in a romance novel. The energy and tension between Judi and Miklos is palpable and hot. The book alternates between thrilling, sexy and romantic. Sometimes it's all three at once -- like a modern day fairy tale.

This is the perfect beach read... or anytime read!
