Book Description

I wondered what my life would be like if we had never moved to the ho-dunk town of Spring Valley, Illinois. Sure the internet service was splotchy, there was nothing but miles of wheat fields, and I probably wouldn’t be faced with death at every corner.

My only neighbor in this god forsaken town was…well there really was only one to describe him, hot as hell. With his sinful dark looks, unusually silver eyes, and kissable lips, there was something about him that was more than meets the eye.

Of course I was determined to find out.

Chase Winters might be drool-worthy, but he was also insufferable, arrogant and…in short a d-bag. Our relationship was anything but love at first sight. Not even close. There was something weird about the family living next door.

What I hadn’t expected to find was an underworld of trouble.
Chase and his cousins Lexi and Travis are Divisa, half-demon, half-human. Getting them angry was hardly in my best interest, not if I wanted to live.

As it turned out, that might be the least of my problems. I’ve been tagged by hell.

Now every ugly, nasty being from hades was on my trail. I have suddenly became a magnet for demon disaster, and the only way I am getting out of this alive was by putting my life in the demon spawn’s hands.

One wrong decision and my butt was toast.

**Recommended for 16+ due to language and sexual content**

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!! May 26, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I truly enjoyed this book. Its about a seventeen year old girl, Angel who moves to a small town with her mom where she befriends her not so ordinary neighbors, brother and sister Travis and Lexi and their cousin Chase. And its almost like hate at first for Chase and Angel. She knows there is something weird about the family, based on how people in town don't look at them and even refuse to speak to them. Then one night Angel follows an angered Chase into the woods where he reveals his family's secret. They are Divisa. Half demon half human. From there Angel is thrust into the dangers of their world while she and Chase fight their feelings for eachother. And boy do they. They can't be in the same room without fighting. I really liked that Angel is not a girly girl. She loves to play Xbox much to Lexi's disappointment, "a girl finally moves in next door and she has more in common with my brother". Chase is the bad boy with the bad attitude. And though he seems to have a stick up his butt at the beginning you come to understand his reason for pushing Angel away. Towards the end there is a bittersweet moment that definitely had me in tears. Then of course Chase being his stubborn self in which a line is delivered by Angel, "Only he could think of arguing with Death. Some things never change" had me smiling. I recommend this book to anyone looking for that story where the girl falls for the bad boy with the sexy smile and dark secret. And yes I did kind of find myself a bit weirded out as I rooted for the girl to get with the demon but hey its just a story. Its an awesome book with strong, funny characters. It does kind of fall similar to Twilight. With the girl following the brooding monster into the woods and demand to know what he's hiding, then tell him she's not afraid of him but it is different. Trust me. Worth purchasing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Time August 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I never write reviews but this book was so bad I wanted to spare the next person thinking about spending their money or time. I made it about halfway through and couldn't stand it anymore. I felt like I wanted to pull out my red pencil and start correcting the mistakes. "HE WAS PRANCED READY TO ATTACK." Are you kidding me? As many others have noted, this is a VERY poor ripoff of Jennifer Armentrout's Lux series, which BTW I loved. I've become accustomed to typo's and slight grammatical errors with these indie ebooks, but I just couldn't make it through this one. It has no redeeming qualities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lux series similarities apart, it was a great book August 1, 2014

Honestly I thought twice before I read this book with all the bad reviews and this was even being free so that's says a lot but I'm glad I didn't listen to what other reviewers said...that's how I am, I read the bad reviews before I read the gd ones because in all sincerity they do have a point but everyone interprets their reading differently and I couldn't agree more. Yes, I saw the similarity with the Lux series which is thee best YA book of the year for me and I didn't see those comments before I read and once I finished I couldn't agree more BUT it is not a total rip off from the lux series...it's different in its own way and I don't know about you guys but once I see a book that has some similarity with the book I love, it makes me buy it just to have that feeling again just in a different scenario.

Angel is awesome and I'm surprised that I kinda like her more than Chase but that may be because we don't know what's going on in his head. I still love their love-hate relationship and heated sexual tension *phew* ... Anyway I can totally relate to Angel and the way she acts which is reasonable and I must admit despite her being in danger those times it wasn't her putting herself in those situation. It's relatable and I find I'd act the same way when it comes to Chase. Angel definitely holds her ground now only if Chase stopped being a prick then we can release some of that sexual tension that makes me wanna crack open a window as I read.

Now I've seen better reviews on the second book. I really don't get why there was so much 1-2 star reviews on this book. Similarities apart I thought it was a great book IMO and even better that it was FREE. Take my advice and read a few chapters before you judge a book based on the reviews...even those with a lot of 5 stars I've found myself not finishing the book so don't always go off of what you saw.

Although it did seem like a copy of the obsidian series if you think about it, the story was good and kept you hooked. And if you don't mind a few misused words then I definitely suggest reading this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your talent in writing is breathtaking July 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love the storyline of this book. It's like the old saying "When a boy and girl fight it's because they have a crush on each other" I hope J.L explains why he lashed out at Angel I mean what is his deal. Angel may act tough and hide under sarcasm but I wonder if she is more wounded inside by her father's actions then she lets on.PLEASE HURRY AND WRITE LOVING ANGEL

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Interesting May 10, 2014

I do love a good witty banter relationship. The kind where you know it's coming because in the wake of the two people being completely unable to stand each other they actually find their match. Thanks for a good series!
