This review is from: Saving The Best For Last: Creating Our Lives After 50 (Paperback)
If you are over 50 or approaching it, this is a must read--candid and enlightening. These three women have pulled out all the stops and given us the opportunity to see how collaboration and friendship can create, heal, support all of us in this fascinating walk through the later part of our lives. You will recognize yourself or a loved one in any number of the topics discussed in 3-part harmony--each author giving her take on a given subject. This format, in and of itself, is a creative, interesting approach and enhances the reading experience. Get the book, read it, send it to friends! Enjoy.

A True Celebration of Life After Fifty,
By
This review is from: Saving The Best For Last: Creating Our Lives After 50 (Paperback)
As a blogger for women over fifty, I'm well aware that a woman's journey through the second half of life can be hugely liberating and richly rewarding. Shifting hormones and changes in life circumstances combine to create a greater sense of independence, a revitalized drive for achievement, and a bolder, more honest way of expressing one's needs and desires.
The authors of Saving the Best for Last are leading the charge as role models for "speaking your truth." Through the pages of this remarkable book, they speak their own truth with openness, honesty, and a big dose of humor along the way. The reader cannot help but be deeply touched by the intimacy with which these women share. If you are looking for a great read with depth, insight, and more than a few belly laughs of self-recognition, you've got a winner with Saving the Best for Last. Reading this candid, honest, funny book is like being in a great conversation. You know how sometimes you meet someone new at a dinner party or go out for lunch and you find so much to talk about and so much commonality that by the time the meal is finished you feel you have found a true friend? Whom you've always known? Reading this book is like meeting three new good friends. You'll find much to identify with and much to admire. I just finished it and can't wait to get a group of my friends together to read it as a group.

That's how the saying goes anyhow and so we all look with some degree of trepidation on those upcoming years (or already HERE years). What a pleasure to read about the lives and experiences of these three remarkable women who have braved the "passage" with grace, humor, and inspiration for us all!

A Must Read,

This review is from: Saving The Best For Last: Creating Our Lives After 50 (Paperback)
In reading Joyce, Jean and Renee's "Saving the Best for Last," I laughed out loud, recognizing so many of my own myths about the aging process. What a relief to realize that there are so many gutsy and brave women over fifty who have turned life's challenges into grand opportunities through their amazing resourcefulness and creativity. These three passionate and daring women are a testimony to the possibilities of life after 50. I found myself identifying with each of these three wonderful women as I read all the fabulous chapters. This is a must read.

This is a definite read for all women who want to know what life can be like as the decades continue - sit back and enjoy the experiences told by women who are enjoying each decade. The authors bring to you their own lust for life - as each page unfolds. A book to take to the beach, sit under a tree, or just snuggle up with at home.

This little book is outstanding, humorous, inspirational and totally accessible. I learned things that I have not yet experienced (and now get to look forward to) and learned that I was not alone in other things. The book is very gentle and inspires me to keep reaching for tomorrow and dreaming new possibilities! I want to thank the authors for their courage in putting forward some very intimate parts of their lives. I look forward to reading anything else that any one of these writers publish in the future.

It ain't over until you say it's over. "Saving the Best for Last: Creating Our Lives After 50" is a guide for those who have passed the half century mark but don't want to give up living their lives just yet. Drawing on their own lives and experiences, the authors give much inspiration and wisdom for making one's twilight the light of one's life. "Saving the Best for Last" is a fine inspirational memoir that should not be missed.

Your book was so insightful of 3 very brave women sharing their most intimate and at times funny lives with us. I've never read a book so honest and heartwarming as yours. I could identify with many of your stories for I had many of the same experiences. The group exercses were very insightful for me.
Thank you for writing another courageous book. Ann Castiglia |
