About the Author
D. Ralph Millard, M.D., was born in June 1919 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical training at Harvard University Medical School. After graduation, he trained in plastic surgery by Sir Harold Gillies, the famed English plastic surgeon.
Dr. Millard served in the Marines during the Korean War, where he perfected the rotation advancement cleft lip surgery that made him famous. Upon returning from Korea, he set up practice in Miami and joined the faculty at the University of Miami. Until his retirement, Dr. Millard was chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. Among his many honors, he is an honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of both England and Edinborough and has received the Order of Distinction from Jamaicaa.

I am a 4th year med student. I used this book along with Cleft Craft and Principilization of Plastic Surgery for a presentation I gave concerning Dr. Millard's contribution to Plastic Surgery. It was a success and I recommend this book to those interested in learning more about Dr. Millard.

a self grandizing book about a self proclaimed wonder of plastic surgery....only in his own mind....leaving a long trail of abuse, hatred, greed and self adornment. A pitiful review by a pitiful old man desperate to gain acknowledgment by his peers...and the people who really know him only know better....
