I have to say that it irks me when someone (specifically for this product: true resonance in their May 10, 2010 review) uses the Amazon reviews to rate their displeasure with shipping or packaging issues. In those cases, return the product or if it is a non-Amazon supplier, then provide bad feedback.

As someone who has actually WATCHED all seasons of Amazing Grace, I wanted to make the comment that this is one of the best series ever on the air. The writing is fresh and unexpected, you'll find passion, drama, humor, good characters with flaws and redeemable bad characters, and some of the best acting anywhere. If you are a fan of series like Lost, Mad Men, The Wire, Homicide: Life on the Streets, The West Wing, Deadwood, etc, then this series will speak to you in much the same way.

I have been enthralled with this series since the first show. Grace is a hard living, working, loving woman that has had life blows that could turn anyone from their Lord.

This show touched a live nerve in me. God loves Grace so much, he sends her an angel to show her his love. Despite all her anger and many mistakes he shows her patience and miracles and doesn't give up on her.

I can't wait each week for the next show and yet will be sad to see the series go. You will laugh and you will cry but if you are like me, you will also find some hope.

just to reassure buyers, I bought the combined series 1&2 despite one reviewer's problems with receiving the full package of 8 discs.

I got them all, 4 discs for series 1 and the same for series 2.

The price on the two-season set was a huge savings, and well worth every penny. Saving Grace has been my favorite show for some time, but I had never seen the earliest episodes 'til now. I highly recommend this set!

I was very pleased with the series of saving Grace. I did not know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. This is the best way to view a television series. No commertials, easy to follow the story line and no waiti;ng until next week to see what happens. I ordered the last series in advance because I so enjoyed the first two.

Holly Hunter - what a daring roll! Racy, raunchy, real, passionate, gritty.
And Earl - you gotta love him - he presents God in a new way.
Incredible acting, writing, directing, and a wonderful supporting cast and guest appearances.
I watched the entire series on dvd and then purchased the show because it is so great.
This strong woman character doesn't take the easy way to exercise life's demons, and still, she has a heart that doesn't stop - this is not a fluff piece - it's a get down into the dregs of your soul kind of show.
And, for the record, don't be turned off because God and Angel's are talked about, this is only part of the show.

Wonderful risky writing and directing.
Thank you for this great show.

I love this show. I borrowed all 3 seasons from my local library and decided to buy it. I really enjoy the interaction between Earl & Grace.

I've always loved this show, and I think it was here and gone far too quickly. It's lighthearted at times, and far darker than most TV fare has been before or since. Holly Hunter is outstanding as a morally compromised cop with issues too numerous to mention. Her portrayal of this character is stellar, and worthy of more recognition than she ever got while it was on the air.

I won't go into the story line much here, but I will say that this entire series is one you won't want to miss, a unique story told by talented writers, brought to life by excellent actors (you've never seen Leon Rippy this good, ever) and filmed at times like you are watching events with your own eyes. This is the best camera work I've ever seen in a TV series, and the omission of a steady-cam in some scenes makes the action more realistic, without being overdone (like the barely-watchable and highly confusing Cloverfield).

Don't miss this, it's well worth your valuable time.

Saving Grace combines a great detectives series with sometimes funny, sometimes serious, always endearing drama about modern day religion and it's relevance to a modern day woman missing something in her life that she isn't even aware of, filling the void with alcohol and misbehaving.
The succes of the series lies in that it's brought in a way that is neither condescending nor overbearing. Where Don Camillo and Joan of Arcadia commune with God, Grace is taught, helped and loved by kind, generous, understanding and humourous angel Earl. And the combination of detective and christian drama makes sure that all can enjoy the series.
