Book Description

"A hidden gem in contemporary romance” ~~ Café Bibliophile

In SAVING ME (Previously released as SAVIN’ ME), Erik Monteague has spent the past thirteen months trapped by the memories of his scorching-hot one-night stand with Kat Owens. When she takes over his advertising account, he’s more than happy to discuss positioning… but not the kind to increase his business… the kind that will put her back in his bed and in his life. While his perfectly executed seduction gets Kat back into his bed, their emotional connection rips open old wounds and Erik is forced to either face his tragic past, or spend the rest of his life running.

Advertising executive Kat Owens has one last chance to prove to her aging grandfather she can be a success. She can’t afford to be distracted by a charming, bad-boy client she knows from personal experience delivers high-voltage sex but nothing more. After succumbing to his advances and spending a weekend in Erik’s arms, she realizes there’s more to life than a successful career and she sets out to prove to him love can be good and lasting.

But Erik’s scars run deep and love may not be enough to save him.

Each book in the Heat Wave series stands alone and can be read out of order.

Review

"Savin' Me is the perfect example of a well written romance novel. The characters are complex, the plot line realistic, the sex scenes gratifying, and the happily ever after we all enjoy." ~~ Slick Reads, Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

"Alannah Lynne's book exudes sex and desire. From the very first few pages, readers will be over-heated and longing for more." ~~ Nicole McManus, Ariesgrl Review

"Let me just say that giving a five wine glass toast is not something I do often. So, not only am I thrilled to give this book the proverbial five star because it was an extremely well written book that pulled at the heart strings, but also because it's an indie author with a self pubbed book! Thank you Alannah Lynne for such a great story!" ~~ Crystal L., Reading Between the Wines Book Club

"Ms. Lynne's characters are able to explore real feelings and desires and allow the story to unfold at a pace that kept me interested and cheering for their HEA." ~~ Zafira, The Jeep Diva

5.0 out of 5 stars Savin' Me May 9, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
Savin' Me is the love story between Kat and Erik. After spending one wild night together, Kat disappears, leaving Erik no way to find her. Years later, they accidentally meet again setting off the same sparks they'd experienced before.
Erik hides behind the perfect good/bad boy demeanor, unfazed, persistent in a take-no-prisoners manner, coupled with a wicked grin and quick wit. He wants Kat to break out of her self-imposed hands-off attitude and explode with the inner fire he knows she harbors.
Kat has wrapped herself up in professionalism to hide her wild side, fearful of "letting go," which might ruin her dwindling opportunities to prove she can be a success. Since it had happened before, she can't afford to allow a man to derail her goals and lose her new position, especially if that man is the company's best client.
Add a jealous girlfriend who wants to hurt Kat; a former lover who haunts Erik's guilty conscious; and Erik and Kat speed toward either heartbreak or mutual sincere love.

Shame stroked across his skin like an old friend. "There's no savin' me, Kat. I don't deserve it."

Savin' Me by Allannah Lynne is a sizzling ride you don't want to miss.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME READ! October 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Don't you just love it when a wicked one night stand comes back and you realize you'd like another shot at it? Two people meet in a bar, share an amazing night that neither has been able to forget and both want to repeat. Thirteen months later they meet at a party and so sets up the incredibly sexy book, Savin' Me by Alannah Lynne.

I can't even begin to express how much I enjoyed this book. Erik Monteague is kind of a mess, he suffered a tragedy ten years ago and he's shut himself off refusing to get involved again. However, he can't seem to get Kat Owens off his mind and finds himself thinking and feeling things he never expected. Kat hasn't exactly had it easy over the last year; she quit her job amid a scandal, had to relocate, and doesn't really enjoy her career. When she reconnects with Erik, the spark is there but because he's a client she doesn't want to get involved.

Never have two people worked so hard to NOT be together than these two, but man did they fail miserably. I'll admit I enjoyed every minute of them failing. While this isn't an erotic romance the sex scenes were written so well, it wasn't hard to imagine every single minute of their time together. Intense, sexy, and a good time was had by all (including the reader).

This couple had quite a few stumbles along the way and even with support from friends and family I began to wonder if they'd be able to work through it all. Erik especially had some dragons to slay and it takes another near tragedy to make him realize he needs to live his life. When Kat realizes the perception of what she thinks she wants out of life and what she truly needs things really start to fall into place for her but then Erik throws her for a complete loop and she's as confused as ever.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blah February 13, 2013

Not terrible but terribly predictable. There was no fire between the two characters and I have issue with characters that have huge "issues" that get so quickly resolved.

I finished it, liked it enough but really won't remember it tomorrow.

3.0 out of 5 stars Intense, emotional and very HOT September 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Kat had an unforgettable one-night stand with Erik. After resigning from her job following a huge misunderstanding, Kat accepts a position in another company where, unbeknownst to her, Erik is a client.

From the moment they lay eyes on each other again, they can't resist each other. She's determined to move on from that night, but Erik is relentless. Putting aside her uncertainties, she finds herself in his arms again only to be left in the cold once their connection comes to be too much for Erik.

This was an interesting story. I liked how Kat worked hard to move on from Erik and how she set forth in her goals even if all she wanted was to give into her attraction to Erik. I felt for her too. She wanted to be pursing something else as a career, but felt she had to comply to her parents wishes. She was frustrated both in her personal and professional life, but she kept her sense of humor and her determination.

Erik, on the other hand, frustrated the hell out of me. At first, I admired his resilience in getting together with Kat, but as he started to withdraw from her, I started to question his motives. I was intrigued by his story and why he kept Kat at bay and with what little was revealed in the beginning I put my worries aside. I tried to understand where he was coming from, but I couldn't help but think that he was playing her knowing that he couldn't give her what she needed at the moment. It was great to see how he came to his senses and know the full extent of his story, but the damage had been done. At least in regards to my opinion of him.

Alannah Lynne did a great job of bringing Erik and Kat's emotions to the page. I could understand Kat's hesitation to start something with Erik and her sadness when he pushed her way.
