More than 50 of the women in the developed world will experience pelvic organ prolapse at some time in their lives. Traditional medical treatment is radical pelvic surgery frequently set women up for repeated surgery. In Saving the Whole Woman, Christine Kent brings hope to millions of women with a proven, non-surgical approach to successfully managing prolapse for a lifetime.
After struggling with a surgically induced uterine prolapse for almost ten years, Christine Ann Kent determined to treat her condition without resorting to hysterectomy. Years of intensive research in the medical literature and extensive experimentation with her own condition resulted in the first edition of her groundbreaking book, Saving the Whole Woman. Completely rewritten in 2007, the 2nd edition remains the definitive book on the subject of natural alternatives to surgery for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
She founded her company, Whole Woman Inc. in 2003 to publish the results of her research and work with women. At the Whole Woman Center in Albuquerque, NM USA, Christine works with women one-on-one and in small groups to learn the Whole Woman Posture, the natural female alignment of the lumbar spine that supports the proper placement of pelvic organs for a lifetime without surgery.
Christine holds bachelors degrees in both Nursing (BSN) from the University of New Mexico and Anthropology (BS) from Northern Arizona University. She lives in Albuquerque New Mexico, where she continues to research, write on her blog and forum and produce videos on women's health.
