I was looking for information when we decided it might be smart to refinance. What I learned from reading the book - the difference between lenders and brokers etc, what to look for on the GFE and what to expect at closing (just to name a few things) - was instrumental in helping me through our refinance. Also the information in the credit section WOW! I honestly had no clue...thought I kind of did before but after reading it I was blown away. I loved the writing style of the book as well - very easy to read and information broken down so things made sense. I also think it is really cool that the book is going to be used to help people too. I hope their national campaign is able to make a difference and assist good people who need it.

With this economy I don't spend money lightly, but this is one purchase I'm glad I made. Most books about lending and finance make you fall asleep with all the industry terms you can't understand. As I read the book I was surprised that it was such a simple read, and how much I understood. The layout of the book makes perfect sense. It starts by teaching you about lending, mortgages and how the business works. Then it shows you how to take that information and apply it when you are seeking a loan or working to better your financial situation.

In the back there are tools you can use to keep track and better your finances. You can also take advantage of the authors extensive knowledge and contact him for additional help. In this these times it's nice to see a person who sincerely wants to help people.

I have recommended this book to friends. I am better for it and know they will be too.

Finally an easy to read book that explains it all! Very well written and easy to understand. I found it very helpful and would recommend this book to anyone because no matter what position in life you are in there is a wealth of information between these pages.

This is a must have! It is nice to know that after all that has happened in the mortgage / real estate industry, there are people that care and want to help those who were put in an unfortunate situation. This book gives you all the insight you need in order to ensure you are not taken advantage of.

If you are in the process of buying, selling, or foreclosure, your most important tool is knowledge of the mortgage industry. Jason Biro has written a book that will give you that knowledge and more. You'll learn what happens "behind the scenes" in the lending food chain, how to tell if fees and charges are fair to the buyer, and it explains options for owners regarding defaults/foreclosures and how to prevent. The book breaks all of this down into a logical, very easy to read sequence. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable of the mortgage lending process but was quite impressed with how much more I learned from the book. I'm considering walking away from a second home mortgage that is very underwater and was very apprehensive about possible consequences of doing so. With excellent credit rating and having never missed a payment, would it be a smart thing to do, and just what are the different options with the lender? This book answered a lot of those questions and I am much, much more comfortable moving forward with a decision. I highly recommend this book.

This book was extremely informative and a great read. Being a MORTGAGE professional myself for the last 6 years, I couldn't agree more with the information that the author is providing and can appreciate the fact that he is unselfishly trying to help individuals by giving back to people who truly need help. Since I have read this, I have been alerting my peers and past clients about it and believe that no one should pass up the opportunity to pick up this book. It not only helps people who are in unfortunate situations, it also educates those who aren't. I advise everyone and anyone, Go get this book and tell your friends and family. You won't be disappointed.

I'm glad I picked this book up b/c it gave me a lot of useful information that I used towards saving my home from foreclosure. I kept getting calls from my lender threatening me if I didn't make my payments and I started having panic attacks. I'm a single mother and needed to find a way to get my situation resolved. I was able to make arrangements with my lender, which they weren't even mentioning to me before, in order to save my home from foreclosure. Not only did this book help me in finding ways to save my home, but it also helped me in fixing my credit issues. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Enjoy and truly learn from it.

Excellent book. Definitely geared towards a very wide audience of both investors and homeowners. Very well written from an "everyday" person's point of view. I found the book to be very useful with easy to follow information and examples. Case studies in the book helped to clarify what otherwise can be a very confusing industry. Definitely empowers the reader with the knowledge required to make the best decisions regarding current homeownership or those looking to make their first purchase. This book takes the very cold calculated business of personal finance and educates the reader for current and future endeavors with a great touch of personalization.....great read!

This is a great book. It is a very easy read while being very informative. Not only is it helpful to the homeowner in trouble, as a part time real estate investor I learned quite a bit myself. I really think it would be perfect as training material for the first time homebuyer. To sum it up--this book puts things in perspective, tells you the inner workings of the banking and finance industries, teaches you the importance of due diligence, and most of all inspires the confidence needed to be a successful homeowner. I encourage anybody who will be investing in the real estate market in the near future to buy and read.

I am so amazed to see that finally someone has been able to figure things out and could explain in an amazing book why the crisis has been leaving many people without home. This book will give you this answer but much more. At the end of the book you will be able to make the right choice regarding your american dream (your most valuable investment) and even understand what not or do in order so save your money in the purchase of a house. Understanding this market will make you the king of the world.
