This review is from: Savior in Time (Paperback)
I found this book to be " a could not put down'! I stayed up late several nights to get it read! It has all the elements, romance, time travel,From the days of Viking history to the future, and incorporates a romance that fuses the future! It just smolders, keeps you on the edge of your seat, you can actually 'transform' into the book, between the centuries! I think it is a great setup for a movie or TV series! The lovescenes are very hot/steamy yet boiling in desire with true love for each other! I have since bought "Trespass of the Heart"( another awesome read..just as captivating!) Samantha is an excellent writer! I am so glad to had recieved "Savior"! Thanks!!

If you loved the movie "The Thirteenth Warrior" and really hated that the King died (although what a glorious death!), read this book. A female time-traveling cop/warrior is given the assignment to go back in time and save the Vikings, with no restrictions. Using modern weapons & skills, hopping from the past to the future, trying to resist her attraction to the King, she starts a train of events that impact lives in both time periods. The King is not only the ultimate warrior but very intelligent and, once he finds out that she's not sent by the gods, decides immediately that he has finally met his Queen, but how can he capture
and keep such an independent woman? Funny, violent, lots of sex and conflict. My best guy friend really enjoyed the book too, with it's obvious parallels to the movie. Highly entertaining futuristic sci-fi romance.

Savior in Time,

"Savior in Time" is a fanciful saga of lives across the centuries and through many worlds. Gail's sensuous use of language creates beautiful and graphic word pictures which keep the reader turning pages. Gail builds richly erotic, believable relationships of strong women and their men to transport the reader seamlessly into worlds of the future and through the rich histories of the past.... I'm waiting for the next adventures!

Powerful Women Fighters Meet their Matches - GOOD!,

If you liked the TV show Xeena, Warrior Princess, this book might appeal to you. The herione is a tough, well-trained knight of the future who travels back in time to complete missions for her boss (who looks like Yoda of Star Wars). She has supernatural abilities and slices enemies into pieces right and left with her special powers (she even has a light saber). It gets a bit gruesome. She meets her match many centuries back in time, though. While there is a lot of violence, this is a sensual romance. In fact, several secondary characters fall in love. I liked it.This book has an element that I enjoy -- the story continues long after the couple has confessed love and married. I like to see a relationship deepen and continue. The plot keeps them plenty busy. I hope she writes many more books.

Excellent - Thrilling,

Wow! This is so hot; I'm thinking of sending copies to several of my underachievers. The author cleverly incorporates a science fiction ingredient into one of the oldest written accounts of mankind's eternal struggle to survive. Naturally, a good woman is the first requirement for survival. This is something new in romance novels, and I love it. Samantha Gail, you are a genius Sex Goddess.

Original and Thought Provoking,

This review is from: Savior in Time (Paperback)
Saviour in time by Samantha Gail is a time travel story with a very unique twist. A twist that is allowed by iUniverse the publishers but not by many of the others who publish time travel romances. The twist in this novel is that the time travel here takes place though a machine and is not only deliberate but with the purpose of altering the past.Remala Picard-Moreau is a Knight of the Order of Shaynvar and lives in the twenty-second century. She is a guardian of time travel who is ordered on missions through time. Her latest mission is to go back to the year 976AD and rescue a small village from destruction. Beravael is the King of Birasett, a Viking warrior and a man used to getting exactly what he wants. And what he wants is Remala as his queen. He believes that she has been sent by the Gods to help him and he intends to keep her with him. However Remala is not prepared to abandon the Order of Shaynvar and remain in the past forever. But she is conspired against from all sides and tricked into marriage with Beraveal. I don't want to spoil the whole plot for those who have not read this book but it is well worth reading just for the answers to some of those time travel questions that no one else seems to want to answer. How much should someone going back in time interfere? Should a time traveller be allowed to take technology from the future back in time? What would happen if there were no limits to how much you can meddle in the past? All these questions and more are dealt with thoughtfully and without detracting from the main story of Remala and Beravael. Louisa Brown

Don't understand me wrong, I actually liked the book for the same reasons as the other reviewers but only up to a certain point. When the hero sodomized the heroine in a fit of jealousy and there were NO repercussions whatsoever the book lost it for me.Your choice if you like something like that, just be warned.

As with the author's other two books, TRESPASS OF THE HEART and CHERISHED INVADER, I really liked SAVIOR IN TIME, but I cannot give it 5 stars. Ms. Gail always seems to introduce a subplot or character that never goes anywhere. In this book (since it travels back and forth in time) I can understand the changing sets of characters and plots, but it does get a little confusing. For example, there was a whole page put in about two little village girls who had absolutely no bearing on the story and made you think you had two more characters to keep up with. Don't get me wrong--I LIKED the book and DO recommend it. I just think the author has this idiosyncrasy in her books. |
