Book Description

January 1, 1994
Vice President Al Gore and other environmental leaders push for radical changes in Americans' actions and ways of thinking. These changes, however, are not based on scientific findings but rather on pseudoscience--a manipulation of scientific data in a quest for legal power, political popularity, and Eastern mysticism. Their objective is to protect the environment, yet their laws accomplish little. In the process, the economy and ultimately we, the people pay the highest price.Coffman contends that every job in America is fundamentally linked to our natural resources. The fabric of our society would collapse without the commodities of paper, lumber, agricultural products, fish, minerals, and petroleum. Ironically, these commodities--and their sources--have become endangered by the environmental extremists in their misguided attempt to become the saviors of the earth.

About the Author

Dr Michael Coffman had degrees in forest science and eco-systems analysis. He is a respected scientist and ecologist who has been involved in ecosystem research for over twenty years in both academia and industry. He published a book on forest ecosystem classification which has become the standard in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. He also assisted the U S Forest service in developing an Ecological Land Classification System for each of the National Forests in Region-9.

Before becoming president of Environmental Perspectives, Inc. Dr Coffman was a manager for a leading forest paper company in the United States. During his tenure he became Chairman of the Forest Health Group within NCASI (National Council for the Paper Industry for Air and Stream Improvement), a respected scientific research group for the Paper industry. In this, and other related responsibilities, he lead a multimillion dollar research effort of the effects of acid rain and global warming on the ecosystems in the US, and became intimately involved in subjects such as wetlands, cumulative effects and biological diversity. During this time he was a spokesperson for the Paper Industry for the Media.

Dr. Coffman is also Executive Director of Sovereignty International, Inc. He provides professional guidance and training in defining environmental problems and conflicts, and developing solutions to specific issues for clients of Environmental Perspectives, Inc and provides information on international treaties and agreements that threaten our Constitutional protections. He played a key role in stopping the ratification of the Convention on Biological Diversity (Biodiversity Treaty) in the U.S. Senate by anticipating and exposing the unbelievable agenda behind the treaty.

In his capacity as CEO of Sovereignty International, Inc. he attended the working sessions on Global Climate Change in Bonn, Germany. SII published several newsletters at each of the working sessions detailing the truth about global warming. Having only heard one side of the global warming scenario SII's newsletters were read and accepted with interest by many members of the working sessions.

Dr. Coffman speaks to a variety of groups nationally and internationally who are interested in the scientific truth behind the environmental headlines in the news media. He is interviewed daily via radio, short-wave and internet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Al Gore and the hard-core environmental movement, April 6, 2001
By A Customer
The shocking revelations in this book are fully documented by the author, often using direct quotes from Al Gore and other hard-core environmentalists. The book is not just the opinion of one man, but is instead an academically solid piece of work, written in a very readable style. Without the documentation that is provided throughout the book, I would have found it hard to believe and may have dismissed it. Coffman also goes to great lengths to present both sides of the issues, and that makes the content and conclusions even more sobering. A real page-turner, but, unfortunately, not fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read, January 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Saviors of the Earth?: The Politics and Religion of the Environmental Movement (Paperback)
Filled with information and extremely well documented this book will answer many questions for anyone now living in an enviornmentally sensitive area who is questioning if our constitution simply no longer applies. Before one commits to an eviornmental group this should be mandatory reading. For anyone interested in a free United States it is also not to be missed. I can not stress it enough that this is a very important book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing, March 8, 2009
This book is a must-read if you're an environmentalist or care at all about the U.S. economy and/or the injustice system there. Even though the book was written during the Clinton administration, it still gives a very vivid (and therefore disturbing) picture of what is happening in the environmental movement and how it has influenced the U.S. psyche. This book unveils the lies in the mantras that we've been taught in school and through media, and does so with some very specific facts and details. I wish deeply that Americans knew what was in this book. There's one quote that I think is chilling, but so important for us to understand, though I risk doing injustice to it by taking it out of the context of all the facts that back it up, "Most Americans are living in a world of illusion, participating in an agenda of which they have little knowledge. Democracy has slim chance for survival when its members base their decisions on illusion."
