Hillsong is "not ashamed of the gospel", September 4, 2007
Hillsong has released another live album of praise and worship, this time recorded in the Acer Arena at the end of the Colour Conference with over 13,000 people. If I had to describe it I would say it's a cross between Hope and God He Reigns. Track descriptions are below.
1. I'm Not Ashamed - Marty Sampson
An upbeat rocker confessing how Hillsong is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Great instrumental introduction.
2. Break Free - Joel Houston
Same Break Free that is from the United album, just with some musical interludes and easier to hear harmony by Darlene. The message of Breaking Free and dancing is exceptional.
3. In Your Freedom - Marty Sampson
A passionate worship song about the Lord being all that we need. The chorus & bridge is simple yet powerful "in your freedom I will Live."
4. You Are My Strength - Reuben Morgan
All of Reuben's songs admittedly sound the same on this album, however that does not mean they sound bad. They are each quiet songs that build into powerful anthems declaring the truth of Christ.
5. Lord of Lords - Brooke Fraiser
Guest singer(?) Brooke Fraiser leads this worship song. She's written songs with powerful lyrics such as "None but Jesus" This is different and unique because it has a Celtic feel.
6. One Thing - Darlene Zschech
A powerful, simple anthem led beautiful by Darlene. One of my favorites from the album.
7. To Know You're Name - Jad Gilles
If there was a song I had to say was my least favorite I'd have to say it was this one. The lead singers back out and let the congregation sing the choruses, which is fine but they let them do it at the beginning and end of the song, which means they only led throughout the middle, which I thought was too much.
8. God of Ages - Darlene Zschech
A fast, upbeat praise song led by Darlene. It reminds me of 'Let Creation Sing'. It stars of tame, and then picks up. Darlene hasn't actually led a praise song in a while.
9. In the Mystery - Joel Houston
Another praise song by Joel Houston. It sounds like a cross of 'God of Ages' with 'I'm not Ashamed', however like some of Houston's songs, there are a lot of lyrics smushed together and it has kind of a sloppy feel.
10. You Saw Me - Reuben Morgan
Has the same feel to his earlier song, 'You Are My Strength' but with much better lyrics. The music is more powerful and the lyrics more meaningful. It would be a great Easter Song.
11. Hosanna - Brooke Fraiser
This is the same song that was on United album this spring and this is the inferior version, imo. It doesn't have as much power or dynamics as the original version. Brooke leads the first verse and then Darlene leads the second.
12. Here in my Life - Darlene Zschech
Darlene has been picking some unique worship songs to lead recently and I love her choices. This song has eloquent lyrics without being wordy, and has some awesome harmony/echo parts.
13. You Are Faithful - Darlene Zschech
I never thought Hillsong would ever record a 3 minute worship song but they have, it is also one of my favorite tracks on the album. Written by Miriam Webster it is a passionate simple worship song with awesome choir parts.
14. Saviour King - Marty Sampson
Everyone knows this song. This is the anthem song of the church as of late. And this version is amazing. It will leave you breathless. It feels like you could go straight into Heaven with this song.
I could compare this album to others but I won't. It's obvious Hillsong is moving deeper into God's will because their songs are reflecting His heart. Instead of just being about writing good songs, they touch the heart of God and the heart of everyone who listens, with their music and melodies. And if that has been accomplished, then there is no other award or title that could equate that.

'Saviour King' Hillsong Live, July 9, 2007
Just returned home from Hillsong Conference 2007 where the latest Hillsong album was released... words cannot do justice to how spirit filled the music produced by this church is... Amazing!!
Year after year the Hillsong worship team faithfully turns out what God has put inside of them, and it shows!!
So many highlights on the album, but pay particular attention to Tracks 3 and 7... ... ... Speechless!!
I can't recommend this album highly enough. It's a must...
