For the Gipsy Kings fan who has been touched by their music for 25 years, or the first-time listener; this CD is sure to surprise and delight.

The instrumental "Tiempo del Sol" is an exquisite masterpiece of timing and lyrical genius; with such subtle nuances of tenderness and feeling, leaving one astonished. A beautiful duet of flute and guitar.

"Sueno" is a touching lull-a-bye, done flamenco style.

"Savor Flamenco" is a great tango flamenco that will compel one to clap one's hands to the rhythm.

"Como l'Agua" is a soul-grabbing flamenco spiritual; if I can coin a new phrase.

The new CD proves that the Gipsy Kings still have it, after all these years, and always will.

This CD is a delight!!

P.S. It doesn't hurt also, that Tonino Baliardo has a rivetingly perfect sense of flamenco compas.

From southern France, the Reyes family along with cousins the Baliardos decades ago brought flamenco into the global pop marketplace with the infectious, danceable, cheerful 4/4 (3-3-2) Spanish rhumba beat. The excitement continues in this release. Guitars and voice dominate supplemented with guest musicians playing percussion, bass, flute, and acoustic and electronic keyboards, and synthesized programming. Is the album a major departure from those of earlier years? No, but there are some important developments. They have a successful formula, so other than improved engineering, more musicians, and more thoughtful arrangements the group did not leave their comfort zone. The instrumental Tiempo del Sol (track 4), which features the flute and some rapid guitar work, does standout as a different Latin popular idiom, but the following track is back to the familiar strong rhumba. A ballad (track 6) is next with some pleasant guitar styling. Samba Samba is nothing of the sort, as it too is a rhumba, but with several brief interludes of Brazilian percussion in samba rhythm. What I do appreciate is that the Gipsy Kings keep the spirit of the flamenco acoustic guitar, and this is demonstrated in the tangos, Savor Flamenco. Sueño is another softer ballad; the final track, Habla Contingo, is a good hybrid of a more traditional, that is rough-voiced, cantaor with pop flamenco. I do enjoy this album, but it lacks the magic of a milestone.

This is my least favorite Gipsy Kings to date. New Kings listeners should buy Mozaique (sp?) for a true introduction to this amazing group.

I like their first album better but, this still has some great songs. Great for summer backyard grilling parties! Feel good music!

This is my second Gipsy Kings album, having previously purchased Pasajero, and this one does not compare. In Pasajero the different tracks felt different in mood, tempo, etc., but here they all felt the same, after a while just blending into the background.

Not very impressed. No ballads in the album. Rumba is nice but gets boring.
I still Love The Gipsy King after seeing them 13 times performing live.

All I can say to fans is the obvious, buy it! For others wondering about the magic of the GK, check out some of their videos and music (with a good sound system damn it, I can't tell you how many people still listen to concerts or music on small headphones and tiny speakers) and hopefully you will become a fan as well. Songs I recommend for first time listeners of the Gipsy Kings are (and I'll list the album as well): Moorea (Gipsy Kings first album), Salsa de Noche, Mira La Itana Mora and La Fiesta Comenza (album Compas), Lagrimas (Este Mundo), A Ti A Ti (Tierra Gitana), Majiwi and Magia del Ritmo (Somos Gitanos), Tampa (Roots), Si Tu Me Quieres, Café, Amor (Pasajero), Nina Morena, Viento del Arena (Mosaique), Madre Mia, Michael, (Love and Liberte). I recommend everything GK, check out their concert at Kenwood House as well, it is really a great concert and a song called A Mi Mora (which has not been released as far as I know) is incredible. The people in the audience really got excited after this one.

Another great Gipsy Kings recording. If you are reading this review it's because you are not familiar with the Gipsy Kings. Buy any one of their albums....you will be hooked.
