Gena Showalter has written a top notch novel with alien hunters, incredible action and really hot sex scenes that are smoldering. I was blown away by this third book in her Alien Huntress series and I recommend Savor Me Slowly to any fan of Showalter.
Jaxon Tremaine has himself in quite a bind. He has been taken and tortured by some alien enemies. They want answers only he can provide. He doesn't give in but when a new alien torturer comes, he is speechless. Mishka is unlike any alien or woman he has ever met. Mishka is also on a mission, and that is to save Jaxon. But she doesn't do her part willingly. She is basically a slave and belongs to an evil man who can kill her without a second thought. She was made in a labatory and has more strength and power than any human, male or female has. Mishka is able to save Jaxon and hides him, but when Jaxon finally heals, he wants answers. Mishka is confused because she has never dealt with a man such as Jaxon. He makes her feel things she has never felt for in a man. All too soon both Jaxon and Mishka act on their attraction, but what Jaxon doesn't know is that Mishka could end up being killed by the touch of a button. Only one word comes to mind when reading a book by Gena Showalter and that is "WOW". I was lost in this world and most importantly the scorching hot love affair between Jason and his incredible love for Mishka. Showalter has written an incredible character in that of Mishka. She is so scarred and emotional cold because of her horrible past and is afraid of being touched and needing love because of the consequences. Jason is a true alpha hero who has a tender side but is very much protective of this intriguing woman. Savor Me Slowly is a near to perfect book as your can get. This was such a great book with only minor flaws. The interaction at the beginning of the book between Le'Ace and Jaxon kept we wanting more. The chemistry between was different, I can't quite put my finger on it. But I loved the two of them.
All the supporting characters are well written, the story line was good. Though, I do have to admit the re-telling of the past book characters didn't do much for me. I felt like it got in the way, when the author felt the need to remind us what had happened to them previously. I'm all for reminiscing, but if it has nothing to do with the issue at hand, why rehash it? I enjoyed how the past characters took part in the story, but the rehashing was tedious. I found myself speed reading through it to get back to Jaxon and Le'Ace. All in all, I loved the story. Worth reading!

Gena Showalter did an amazing job of building a world so enthralling that it will completely capture your imagination and will have you glued to your seat turning the pages. Jaxon, at first glance, seems like a cold and calculating Alpha male; however, as we get to know him better, Jaxon reveals himself to be a fiery lover and an unflinchingly loyal man. Mishka will capture your heart with her battle to be more than she was created to be and become a woman worthy of love - all the while fighting the man who controls her and the negative expectations of the people around her. Mishka and Jaxon make the perfect pair in this action-packed romance each with their vulnerabilities to overcome while keeping the pace of the action and delivering an ending that will leave your romantic heart well satisfied! Get yourself Savor Me Slowly - it's a wonderful book, perfect for escaping reality as it creates a world so far removed from our own that you will be engrossed in the book from start to finish!
